Gwen Stefani and her ex-husband Gavin Rossdale recently met in private to discuss her new boyfriend Blake Shelton, it has been claimed.

Rossdale, 50, had an 'emotional' meeting with Stefani, 46, as he reasserted his parental rights over their three children together, according to an article on Wednesday by Us Weekly.

Since October 2015 the blonde singer has been dating country star Shelton, 39, and he's bonded with her sons Kingston, nine, Zuma, seven, and two-year-old Apollo.

'Gwen had a meeting with Gavin to discuss her relationship with Blake and how it will affect the children going forward,' a source told the magazine.

'[Gavin] wants to be consulted on everything concerning the kids and the role that Blake is playing in their lives,' the insider added.

Stefani and Rossdale filed for divorce in August 2015 after nearly 13 years of marriage and it was finalised in October 2015.

Court documents filed in April detailing their division of assets outlined how Stefani will keep the rights to her No Doubt music while Rossdale retains rights to his Bush music.

They share joint legal and physical custody of the boys and neither Stefani nor Rossdale receives child or spousal support.

Rossdale recently bought a $7.6million, six-bedroom bachelor pad in the foothills above the Studio City area of Los Angeles, according to an article on Tuesday by Variety.

Stefani and Shelton meanwhile recorded a duet together titled Go Ahead And Break My Heart and have performed it live on The Voice and during the recent Billboard Music Awards.

The cute couple looked quite smitten with each other during both live performances.

Shelton began a relationship with Stefani following his split from wife Miranda Lambert and it blossomed while both were coaches on The Voice.
