Justin Bieber sued by Indie rocker Casey Dienel for 'ripping off her riff for his mega-hit single Sorry'

She claims she warned him to stop using her vocal loop on his hit, Sorry, back in December.

And now Justin Bieber is being sued by indie rocker Casey Dienel, aka White Hinterland, for allegedly taking her riff from her 2014 single Ring The Bell,TMZ reported on Thursday.

The 31-year-old American singer claimed the 'unique characteristics of the female vocal' in her song are exactly what can be heard in Sorry.

Skrillex, who produced Biebs' hit, has also been named in the lawsuit.

Casey claims that Justin repeated her riff six times in his Sorry track, according to the news site.

That's not the only similarity. According to the Massachusetts-based songwriter, both tracks feature keyboard synthesizers, samples, synth bass, drums and percussion.

However, it may be a stretch proving that one in court as a great many songs use all those instruments in one form or another.

Casey pointed out her Ring The Bell was popular (more than 800,000 streams and counting) and was favorably received by Rolling Stone magazine.

Now she wants Justin to stop playing her tune and pay her compensation, although the amount has not been specified.

Justin recorded Sorry for his fourth studio album, Purpose, and released the track on October 23.
