The 148ft concept yacht, called La Petit Terrasse (top), is the brainchild of US designer Lujac Desautel and features flexible, open-plan spaces (bottom left) that can be used as sun decks, party spots or even a catwalk. Desautel designed it with an Italian fashion mogul in mind and said he set out to create a luxurious home on water. Guests would spend a lot of their time on the main deck (bottom right), where they could jump into the sea from a platform or go for a dip in an on-board pool.

One of the greatest passenger ships ever built, RMS Queen Mary left Southampton on 27 May 1936 en route to New York, the first of many transatlantic crossings that attracted the likes of Winston Churchill, John F Kennedy, Walt Disney, Elizabeth Taylor, Bob Hope and many other famous guests. The Art Deco liner was the largest and fastest passenger ship in the world when it launched, with three classes of cabins, two indoor swimming pools and opulent dining rooms and bars for first class passengers. The historic ship was retired in 1967 and has been preserved as a tourist attraction in Long Beach, California.

A diver has plunged to the deepest depths to capture these stunning snaps of an ancient Mayan sinkhole. The deep crater, in the heart of the Mayan forest in the Yucatan Peninsula, Mexico, is believed to be the site of an ancient Mayan burial ground - the eerie cavern is filled with bones and fossils. The spectacular pictures were taken by French wildlife and underwater photographer Fabrice Guerin, during a trip to find out more about the fascinating sinkhole.
The Sardinian beach that's become a top tourist attraction thanks a colony of CATS
A town with just six residents and no shops or hotels has become a top tourist destination on the island of Sardinia, all thanks to its colony of cats. Cats at Su Pallosu (pictured) roam the sandy beaches and even play in the water while visitors are free to pet them. The unusual attraction has even been awarded the TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence and is currently ranked as seventh on the travel reviews site.

An adventurous man quit his job as an engineer to spend his days kayaking around the Mediterranean - and is now accompanied by a canine first mate. Sergi Basoli, originally from Barcelona, has been paddling the turquoise waters and sleeping on beaches for the past three years and has no plans to stop any time soon. In total, the unstoppable duo have explored 3,106 miles in their tiny vessel and have made lots of new friends along the way.
Spend the weekend in Diana's old bedroom for £25K: Princess of Wales' childhood home opens to overnight guests for the first time
Princess Diana's brother, Earl Charles Spencer, has opened the sprawling Althorp estate, where she is interred on an island, to support the Whole Child International charity founded by his wife. Guests will be able to spend the weekend at the Grade I-listed Althorp estate, near Northampton, for approximately £25,000 ($40,000) per couple or £175,000 ($250,000) for a party of up to 18. Guests can stay in the same bedroom where Diana slept before she married Prince Charles in 1981.

Australian native Bobby-Jo Clow, 33, has been taking pictures of beautiful elephants since 2004, when she was left mesmerised after seeing her first wild elephant in Kenya. Since then, she has made regular pilgrimages to southern and eastern Africa to capture the stunning creatures on camera in their natural habitat. Now, Bobby-Jo has narrowed down her thousands of images to just 200, and is planning to create a book of her beautiful pictures called Reflections of Elephants.
