Jamie Hince claims break-up from supermodel wife Kate Moss has negatively impacted his music career and made people 'not like' his band The Kills

Most bands would kill for the number of hits The Kills get when they post a new single online.

But the media frenzy around the band's comeback, along with attention on the breakdown of  his marriage to Kate Moss, has garnered the wrong sort of interest in the band according to Jamie Hince.

The 47-year-old musician told i News, 'All it's done is made people who I could have told in advance they're not going to like my band, listen to a song and then say: 'This is s**t!''

After five years in the wilderness, Jamie and band-mate Alison Mosshart, 37, are set to release a much hyped new album - Ash and Ice - in June.

But so far, the guitarist and vocalist has not been impressed with a lot of the feedback his music has received online.

'If you go on YouTube and look at the likes on our videos, we've got an amazing amount of thumbs down.'

Kate and Nikolai are said to have been long-acquainted through his mother, Debonnaire, a socialite who is friends with Kate - and reportedly began renting part of her London home in October.

Kate also lives with 13-year-old Lila Grace, her daughter from her previous relationship with magazine publisher Jefferson Hack.
