Kate Beckinsale induced serious hair envy on the streets of London on Thursday, as she stepped out to promote her new film Love & Friendship.

The English rose, 42, boasted a very impressive mane on a visit to BBC Radio 1, where she was invited to talk about her new comedy-drama, based on Jane Austin's Lady Susan.

Smart and sophisticated, Kate dressed in a top-to-toe monochrome look, comprising a smart blazer and skinny jeans.

Kate plays central lead Lady Susan Vernon in the new period drama, which is about a woman who tries to match-make with her daughter Frederica at her in-laws' estate.

The movie opportunity finally reunited Kate with actress Chloë Sevigny, with whom she shared the screen in 1998 for Last Days of Disco.
