There is nothing more fulfilling then spending quality time with the family.

Unless, of course, you would rather be somewhere else.

That certainly seemed the case for a thoroughly-bored looking Scott Disick, who couldn't tear himself away from his phone as he 'enjoyed' a day out with his kids on Wednesday.

Texting away, he even turned his back on his daughter Penelope at one point, as the ignored three-year-old and a friend rode ponies at the popular Underwood Farms just outside Los Angeles.

Even when he gamely decided to join his kids on a cow-themed ride, Scott wasn't mentally present.

Crammed into a can painted as 'Bluebell', the uncomfortable looking father-of-three spent the bumpy ride ignoring his surroundings, instead glued to the small screen of his smart phone.

While the club promoter split from long-term partner Kourtney Kardashian last year, he remains a part of his children's lives.

Luckily Kourtney is normally there to take up the slack if Scott gets distracted - although she also seemed rather preoccupied by her cell phone on Wednesday.

Along with Penelope, the couple's oldest child Mason was on the family outing, although one-year-old Reign appeared to have stayed behind at home.

Kourtney Kardashian may be on mom duty, but she certainly wasn't compromising on her style. The reality star looked effortlessly stylish in her casual-cool Canadian tux look consisting of skinnies, Saint Laurent Patti flat boots, and a denim jacket like a true fashionista.

If there were a definitive list of things every woman should have in her closet, a denim jacket would be on there.

Despite turning six last December, Mason is not thought to have been enrolled in Kindergarten this current school year.

It is not known if his parents plan to home school him, or enroll him in school come August.

For their day at the farm 37-year-old Kourtney had put her usual thought into her outfit.

She showed off her trim figure in a Western inspired double denim look, with jeans and a jacket teamed with a white shirt and suede booties.

Scott, who was to turn 33 on Thursday, also wore jeans, with a green T-shirt.

While Scott seemed rather distracted for much of the outing, when not looking at his phone he did seem happy to be spending time with his children.

At one stage the group stopped to enjoy an ice pop, with Scott smiling as he scooped up his only daughter for a hug.

Penelope, who wore cowboy boots with a purple dress, looked delighted with the attention, although she wasn't too pleased when her daddy talked to the other children accompanying the group.
