Amber Heard is pictured smiling hours after Depp's 'iPhone attack': Actress claims 'cocaine and booze binges turned Johnny into an abusive monster who left her fearing for her life' - but why was this image deleted before court appearance?

A photograph of Amber Heard smiling with friends hours after her now estranged husband Johnny Depp allegedly launched an iPhone at her face has emerged, but was deleted before she appeared in court filing for a domestic violence restraining order.

Heard has claimed cocaine and booze turned Depp into a violent monster, and in court documents she states she was the victim of multiple domestic incidents during their 15-month marriage.

She said she 'lived in fear' of the Pirates of the Caribbean star and the idea he could return to the L.A. condominium they shared to 'terrorize me physically and emotionally'. 

But sources connected to Depp have told TMZ Amber is lying and point to Instagram where Heard was tagged in a picture with Amanda de Cadenet and model Amber Valletta at de Cadenet's birthday party on Sunday, the day after he allegedly attacked her. 

The actresses' hair covered the areas of her face which appeared to have been bruised the day before. The photograph was posted on Instagram by British TV show host de Cadenet on Monday. But it has since been deleted.

Heard, 30, and her lawyer Samantha Spector appeared at the Superior Court of California County of Los Angeles on Friday, where she filed for a domestic violence restraining order.

In her declaration of petition for a restraining order, seen by DailyMail.com, Heard said: 'Johnny has a long-held and widely acknowledged public and private history of drug and alcohol abuse. He has a short fuse. 

'He is often paranoid and his temper is exceptionally scary for me as it has proven many times to be physically dangerous and/or life threatening to me.’ 

Last Saturday, during a heated row, Heard said an 'inebriated and high' Depp had grabbed her cellphone, 'wound up his arm like a baseball pitcher and threw the cell phone at me striking my cheek and eye with great force,' the court filing states. 

But police officers found 'no evidence of any crime’, despite Heard appearing bruised in a picture she claims was taken after the alleged attack.

After allegedly having a phone thrown off her face last Saturday, Heard stated that Depp continued to attack her. 

She said: 'He then forcibly pulled back my hair as I attempted to stand up from the sofa. 

'Johnny continued screaming at me, pulling my hair, striking me and violently grabbing my face.'

She said the attack only ended when a friend, who Heard had texted asking for help, arrived to their Broadway condominium. Depp left the property - but not before he picked up a magnum bottle of champagne and used it as a baseball bat to 'smash everything he could,' the documents state.

Depp had already left by time police arrived to the apartment after a friend of the couple called 911.

But LAPD Sgt. Marlon Marrache told PEOPLE that officers found 'no evidence of any crime'.

'A crime did not occur so the officers left the scene and left a business card,' he said, adding that Heard had not made an official complaint.

Marrache adds that if there had been any signs of abuse, police would still have conducted an investigation even if Heard had not wanted to press charges.

Heard was ultimately granted a temporary order by the judge, who ruled that Depp must remain at least 100 yards away from Heard until their next hearing, which is scheduled for late June. 

She was also granted the right to live in the family home, but failed in her bid for sole custody of one of the couple's dogs. 

The judge ruled against Heard however in her attempt to collect spousal support from Depp and have him cover her attorney fees.

Heard looked stoic as she left the courthouse on Friday, dressed down in a black dress and wearing no make-up.

The bruise that she alleges was the result of Depp's attack could still be seen on her face.

She did not stop to speak with reporters or members of the public and instead rushed into her waiting car.

Her lawyer briefly stopped to tell the crowd that her client was 'being very brave'.

Once she got into the car however cameras captured her as she broke down in tears and began to sob in the backseat of the vehicle. 

Heard claims that Depp, 52, offered her money to keep the incident that occurred on Saturday quiet, but she instead made the decision to file for divorce that Monday. But Heard insists that May 21 was not an isolated incident.

Heard was on the phone with a friend during the alleged fight and when Depp began to pull her phone away from her she told the person on the other line to call the police

The alleged fight between Haerd and Depp occurred just one day after the death of Depp's mother Betty Sue Palmer, who passed away last Friday

Her 30th birthday, on April 21, had ended in violence after another row escalated into physical abuse, she claimed in court documents.

Heard said that Depp had turned up late to the gathering at their Broadway home 'inebriated and high'. After the guests left, she said they began to disagree about his late arrival which 'deteriorated into a bad argument'.

She said Depp had hurled a bottle of champagne at the wall before throwing 'a wine glass on me, and the floor, both which shattered.'

'Johnny then grabbed me by the shoulders and pushed me onto the bed, blocking the bedroom door. He them grabbed me by the hair and violently shoved me to the floor.

'Johnny was also screaming and threatening me, taunting me to stand up. After several minutes, Johnny stormed out of the condominium, but not before tossing aside and breaking nearly everything in his path.' 

That would be the last time she saw her husband for a month. She also has a video that allegedly shows Depp beating her according to TMZ. 

Depp was not present in court on Friday as he is off promoting his new film Alice Through the Looking Glass and preparing for a performance with his band Hollywood Vampires at the Rock in Rio Lisboa concert in Portugal.

He was represented during the proceedings on Friday by his attorney Laura Wasser.

During Saturday's incident, Heard said that she had been having a 'peaceful conversation' with Depp as she tried to comfort him about the loss of his mother.

'Suddenly he began obsessing about something that was untrue and his demeanor changed dramatically,' she claimed in her filing. 'He became extremely angry.'

As she became increasingly concerned for her safety, Heard called down members of Depp's security team and texted her friend who lived next door.

Meanwhile, the Hollywood star had 'continued to rant in an aggressive and incoherent manner' before demanding Heard called their mutual friend Tilet Wright (iO) 'to prove his paranoid and irrational accusations about some delusional idea he was having.'

'As my call to iO went through on speakerphone, Johnny ripped the cellphone from my hand and began screaming profanities and insults at iO. I heard iO yell at me to get out of the house.'

At that point, she says Depp grabbed her cellphone and threw it at her face.

A representative for Depp said in a statement on Thursday; 'Given the brevity of this marriage and the most recent and tragic loss of his mother, Johnny will not respond to any of the salacious false stories, gossip, misinformation and lies about his personal life.

'Hopefully the dissolution of this short marriage will be resolved quickly.'

In her declaration of petition for a restraining order, seen by DailyMail.com, Heard said she 'lived in fear' of Depp and the idea he could return to the L.A. condominium they shared to 'terrorize me physically and emotionally.'

The 30-year-old actress said that Depp - whom she claims has a loose grip on reality - had attacked her several times during their marriage, including three occasions of domestic violence within just the past six months.

She claimed one alleged incident in December 2015 had made her 'truly feared that my life was in danger.'

'Johnny has a long-held and widely acknowledged public and private history of drug and alcohol abuse,' Heard wrote in her declaration.

'He has a short fuse. He is often paranoid and his temper is exceptionally scary for me as it has proven many times to be physically dangerous and/or life threatening to me.

'Johnny's relationship with reality oscillates, depending upon his interaction with alcohol and drugs. As Johnny's paranoia, delusions and aggression increased throughout our relationship, so has my awareness of his continued substance abuse.

'Because of this I am extremely afraid of Johnny and for my safety.

'I am petrified he will return at any moment to the Broadway residence to which he has full access to despite my repeated pleas to his security team to prevent otherwise and to protect me.'

She claims there have been at least three incidents of domestic abuse in the past six months. 

One alleged incident was said to have occurred on her birthday on April 21 this year, after Depp turned up late to the gathering at their Broadway home 'inebriated and high.'

'He then demanded we call our friend iO Tilet Wright (iO) to prove his paranoid and irrational accusations about some delusional idea he was having.

'As my call to iO went through on speakerphone, Johnny ripped the cellphone from my hand and began screaming profanities and insults at iO. I heard IO yell at me to get out of the house.

'Johnny then grabbed the cellphone, wound up his arm like a baseball pitcher and threw the cell phone at me striking my cheeky and eye with great force. 

'I immediately covered my face and was crying because of the pain.

'Johnny charged at me, insisting on seeing my face. He taunted me, challenged whether or not the cellphone actually hit me.

'He then forcibly pulled back my hair as I attempted to stand up from the sofa. I then yelled out 'Call 911', hoping it would be heard by iO who was still on the phone.

The next time she saw Johnny was May 21 - the day after the actor's mother passed away - and when the next alleged incident occured

At that moment the friend she had text entered the apartment with her spare key - interrupting the row. 

The woman got in between the couple and says that Depp 'slapped' her arms out of the way when she tried to stop him from approaching Heard.

'Johnny then picked up the magnum size bottle of wine he had been drinking out of and he started swinging it around smashing everything he could.'

She says he 'charged' at her and shouted at her to stand up. He did this about ten times getting closer to me, louder and more threatening each time.'

Her friend and neighbor Raquel Pennington said she'd arrived at the apartment to find Heard 'covering her heard with her hands and arms and Johnny was loudly screaming at her.'

She also described Depp picking up the bottle and swinging like 'a baseball bat.'

'Wine was flying all over the walls, floors, furniture and he began using the bottle to smash everything he could.'

Heard said that the chaos attracted members of her husband's security team who ignored her pleas for help.

Only when she threatened to call the police 'if Johnny hits me one more time', did one of the security members say 'Boss, please,' she said. 

'But Johnny continued screaming and breaking things, finally leaving the condominium. As Johnny went down the hallway, he smashed another bottle and wine then went into the adjoining condominium I used as my office, painting studio and closet.

'I could hear him destroying items of personal property as he continued screaming.'

By the time police arrived at the apartment, Depp had already left. Heard declined to press charges.

Depp was arrested in 1994 after he was accused of destroying his hotel room at the Mark Hotel in New York City while with Kate Moss

Depp and Heard began dating in 2012 after meeting on the set of The Rum Diary.

The Oscar-nominated actor had just ended his relationship with French model and actress Vanessa Paradis after 14 years together and two children - daughter Lily-Rose, now 17, and a 14-year-old son John who goes by Jack.

Those are Depp's only two children.

The actor largely avoided the spotlight during his years with Paradis, who he first met on the set of their film The Ninth Gate.

The couple and their children had no problem avoiding the press either thanks to Depp's purchase of Little Hall's Pond Cay, a private island located in the Bahamas that he purchased in 2004 for just under $4million.

Depp and Heard also made use of the island during their relationship, with the pair hosting their wedding party at the 45-acre tropical getaway after an intimate ceremony for close friends and family in Los Angeles.

It was the second marriage for Depp, who married Lori Anne Allison in 1983 and then split with the makeup artist two years later right around the time his career began to take off following his big screen debut in the horror classic Nightmare on Elm Street.

Depp rebounded from his divorce by starting a relationship with Sherilyn Fenn, spending just over three years with the actress and even getting engaged before the ultimately decided to part ways.

In the years between his split from Ryder and his relationship with Paradis, Depp found himself a frequent tabloid target thanks to his love affair with another high profile lady, supermodel Kate Moss.

The British beauty was still a teenager when she began dating Depp, and the two made headlines thanks to the tumultuous nature of their relationship. 

It was during this time that he was arrested and charged with criminal mischief after an incident in September 1994 at the Mark Hotel in New York City.

Police were called to the hotel around 5.30am and Depp was cuffed and taken in after being accused of smashing the furniture and glass inside his room, where he was staying with Moss. 

The charges against him were eventually dropped after he agreed to pay back the hotel for the just under $10,000 in damages he caused during his tirade.

Insiders claim their relationship is in trouble. A source close to the pair told People: 'Johnny is crazy in love with Amber, but there is turmoil in the relationship.'

FEBRUARY 2015

The pair press ahead with their marriage, legally tying the knot with her at their home in Los Angeles on February 3 so his ailing mother can attend. The following weekend, they exchanged vows again on his private island in the Bahamas, Little Hall's Pond Cay.

MARCH 2015

Johnny injures his hand in Australia and returns to the U.S. for surgery, delaying production of the film. 

APRIL 2015 

Johnny fails to show up on the Australian set of 'Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales', where he was expected to resume filming. Production on the movie has been reshuffled so they can work without him.

Sources claim Johnny and Amber have started 'fighting a lot', but they are pictured together in Brisbane, Australia, on April 20. 

MAY 2015

Australian authorities threaten to kill Johnny and Amber's dogs. Australian Agriculture Minister Barnaby Joyce has revealed they just 50 hours to remove his two Yorkshire terrier pooches from the country or they will be 'destroyed. The pair failed to adhere to quarantine laws and instead 'snuck' the pooches in on a private jet. The next day, Depp jets the two pet dogs back to the US. 

JUNE 2015

Amber  describes herself as 'fiercely independent.' When asked about married life, she told Elle magazine: 'Nothing is a dramatic change. We've been together for a long time now, so it's been a fairly organic process. I have a fiercely independent spirit. I fall in love [with Johnny] again and again.' She added: 'We have a fairly normal, um [relationship]. I guess, we do our best. He has his life, and I have mine, and our challenge is to be able to find time to be together. We're very happy. Very.'

JULY 2015

Amber is charged over smuggling her dogs into Australia. She is summoned to appear in court in Queensland after illegally smuggled their Yorkshire terriers into the country on a private plane. She is charged with two counts of illegal importation and one count of producing a false document after breaking the country's quarantine laws. 

APRIL 2016

Amber Heard's dog smuggling charges are dropped after she pleads guilty to supplying false documents. Amber and her 'Black Mass' actor husband attended Southport Magistrate's Court in Queensland, where she admitted to lying on her arrival card on entering the country. Her lawyer told the court she was under the impression Johnny's staff had dealt with the two dog's travel forms when they arrived in April. He also claimed that Amber had 'nothing in it' to fill in the forms incorrectly and that it was a 'terrible mistake'.

News breaks that Amber has filed for divorce from Johnny after just 15 months of marriage. The 30-year-old actress filed a divorce petition on May 23, citing irreconcilable differences, according to TMZ. The publication claims Amber wrote in the divorce documents that the pair separated on May 22, which was just two days after the 52-year-old actor's mother Betty Sue Palmer passed away.
