'It has knocked my confidence': BGT's Wayne Woodward reveals he had an epileptic fit moments after reaching the final

It was reported Wayne Woodward had fainted after the excitement of Monday's successful Britain's Got Talent semi-final.

But the 20-year-old has now revealed he had his first ever epileptic fit after he went through to this weekend's final and is worried it could happen all over again and ruin his chances of singing at the Royal Variety Show.

The builder, from Sutton in south London, almost bit through his tongue during the fit and took two days to recover before returning to rehearsals - and it was feared he might have to pull out of the show altogether.

'I was worried I was going be diagnosed with epilepsy and I wouldn't be able to sing properly or perform in the final,' he told the Mirror.

'It has knocked my confidence, I'm scared it's going to happen again in front of all those people.

'But nothing's going to stop me now, even if I have to leave every show in an ambulance. I have been working for this for so long, I'm not going to give up when I'm so close to my dream.'

Wayne collapsed after Monday night's successful semi-final at Fountain Studios in Wembley and pictures of the singer getting into an ambulance to be taken to hospital emerged on Tuesday morning.

Wayne won the backing of three BGT judges that night thanks to his rousing performance of Frank Sinatra's That's Life.

Wayne left the studio on foot, accompanied by his family and was seen getting into an ambulance that was brought to the back doors.

Looking fatigued, the young contestant was no longer wearing his suit jacket and took steady sips from a cup of water.

Earlier that evening, Wayne managed to win over the hearts of the nation and was announced as the first act to get through to the finals.

It seemed like nobody was more bowled over than panelist Amanda Holden on the night, as she declared that she loved him.

The 45-year-old stunner sung Wayne's praises and even made reference to some of the cheeky - albeit flattering - comments that he had made about her in the press over the last week.

'I absolutely love you and thank you for all of your comments about me this week,' she gushed with a glimmer in her eye.

Asked to elaborate on the comments by co-judge Simon Cowell, Amanda affirmed: 'He said I was 'a sort.''

The TV beauty was of course referring to a recent interview in The Sun, which saw the youngster say: 'Amanda, she's a MILF, she is lovely.'

MILF is a slang term for 'Mum I'd like to f***'.

Wayne also referred to the blonde bombshell as a 'sort' when posting on social media.

But Amanda wasn't the only judge blown away by Wayne's performance as Alesha Dixon also enthused: 'You have just got it. You have it in abundance. The way you perform is just effortless,' Alesha gushed.

'You are alright,' Simon joked in his best attempt at a cockney accent. 'It's authentic. You're somebody that the public are going to root for.'

'It's like Frank Sinatra and Danny Dyer had a baby and it grew up into you and it shouldn't work but it does. You're a star and you owned that stage tonight.,' David praised.

Also making it through to next week's final was daredevil Alexandr Magala who left the judges on the edge of their seats as he performed a series of stunts that were so dangerous that they had to be pre-recorded rather than broadcast live.
