Danny Dyer misses out on Best Actor gong for the third time at British Soap Awards... as he 'throws tantrum while walking the red carpet with on-screen wife Kellie Bright'

He was nominated for the Best Actor gong for the third consecutive time at the British Soap Awards.

But Danny Dyer, who plays Mick Carter in EastEnders, lost out yet again at Saturday night's star-studded ceremony, held at Hackney Town Hall in London.

Arriving at the awards earlier in the evening, the Cockney geezer, 38, said: 'If I don't win I'll be gutted. I'll be absolutely gutted, I ain't going to lie to ya. Everyone will say they'll be fine with it, but I will be really upset and I will sob me heart out.'

Danny hit the red carpet alongside his co-stars Kellie Bright, who plays his on-screen wife Linda, and Luisa Bradshaw-White, his on-screen sister Tina.

And while he was in a playful mood as he posed for pictures with Kellie, he was less enthusiastic when it came to talking to journalists, according to a report by the Daily Mirror.

The East End hardman allegedly refused to talk to certain members of the press leaving his co-stars to cover for him as he stood in the background.

And even after a BBC representative attempted to encourage him to take part he still declined to answer questions.

When asked about upcoming plot lines, the star allegedly said: 'I don't like that, nah, nah' and tried to hurry his co-stars along the runway.

MailOnline has contacted a representative for Danny and is awaiting comment.

However, he seemed to be in a cheeky mood when receiving questions from the Press Association.

He teased Kellie for giving away a spoiler, while Kellie told the reporter 'not to believe anything he says'.

Despite missing out on the Best Actor prize, Danny has previously tasted plenty of success since joining EastEnders in 2013.

In 2014, he won the Best Soap Actor award at the TV Choice Awards and the following year he scooped the award for Best Serial Drama Performance at the National Television Awards.

The British Soap Awards airs on Sunday May 29 at 8pm on ITV.
