Sunrise's Samantha Armytage had a bit of a rough end to her day on Monday after she was attacked by a dog on her afternoon walk. The presenter revealed her wound in a snap shared to Instagram with a large bandage covering her left forearm. In the caption, the 38-year-old informed her fans that she had taken a trip to the hospital and had several injections to prevent further infection.

They have made their name staging edgy stunts on the campaign trail, but The Chaser became the chased on Monday when Chas Licciardello tried to embarrass the Prime Minister with a 'trust fall'. Screaming 'I want you to know that I trust you!' and calling on Mr Turnbull to break his fall, Licciardello hit the concrete hard before a dark-suited minder to the PM added insult to injury by ramming his head into the road as he lay writhing on the ground. The bruised ABC comedian said he wasn't hurt and that the security detail were quite good to him.

NEW Chris Nelson (left) from Woy Woy on the NSW Central Coast, is accused of sending foul-mouthed messages (inset) to Nova Peris' (right) Facebook page. 'Nova F*** off. You were only endorsed by Juliar (sic) because you were a black c***. Go back to the bush and suck on witchity grubs and yams,' the vile post read. 'Stop painting your f***ing face with white s*** in parliament. Other than being a runner you are nothing.' Despite being charged on Monday afternoon, Dr Nelson has vehemently denied sending the messages. 'I was clearly hacked,' he said.

Police have said the parents of a four-year-old who climbed into a gorilla's enclosure could be facing criminal charges after staff were forced to kill the beloved animal. The 400-pound gorilla named Harambe was shot dead by Cincinnati Zoo officials just one day after his 17th birthday after the boy climbed through barriers and fell into the enclosure, pictured left. The incident, which was captured on cell phone, has sparked an outcry of emotion as mourners called it a 'senseless death'. Many are placing the blame squarely on the parents of a four-year-old boy. A former 'mommy blogger' has told of how her pastime became a grueling, life-sapping business that left her feeling depressed and disconnected from her children.  In 2013 Josi Denise was a restless 24-year-old former marketing director who found that raising two kids in Miami wasn't enough to still her restless mind. As a distraction, she started her blog 'The American Mama,' which she turned into a powerhouse that attracted thousands of readers and free gifts from major companies. But her commercial success was a personal disaster that distanced herself from her son Nicholas and daughter Gabriella (both top-right). And it wasn't until the birth of her second son, Leonardo (bottom-right) in 2015 that she found the strength to make a change.

NEW Jessica Davis, 23, from Sydney, Australia, shed a whopping 11 stone after having a gastric band fitted in 2011. However, the operation left her with a bizarre side effect; loose skin that, she felt, formed into the shape of breasts. Davis decided to have another operation to correct the look of her tummy - costing £10,000 - and now has the body of her dreams. The family of a young girl who died after being tramped by a horse has shared emotional tributes online, after it was revealed the 12-year-old's mother was was the first to find her after the tragic accident. Billie Mayson-Kinder (right) suffered severe head, chest, and abdominal injuries when the family horse she was leading was spooked and ran over her, on a property in Pitt Town in the Hawkesbury region of NSW, north-west of Sydney. Billie's older sister, Charlie, shared a picture of the two of them together (left) on social media in tribute to the 12-year-old.

NEW Jessica Benton's son Landon was unfavourably compared to NBA player Steph Curry, and turned into a widely shared internet meme as 'Stuff Curry'. However, instead of letting the bullies get to her and her ten-month-old, Ms Benton, 39, from Quincy, Illinois, decided to own the cruel nickname - quite literally - and Landon is now an Instagram celebrity, and 'Stuff Curry' trademarked.

NEW Keira Knightley may want to take John Carney off her Christmas card list. The Irish director slammed the actress in an interview with The Independent over the weekend, accusing her of not having the skills to play a singer in his 2013 musical romantic comedy Begin Again. He also claimed she has such a big entourage that he could not connect with her in a meaningful way. The filmmaker also called her a 'supermodel.' Keira indeed does model as she's one of the faces of Chanel, but she is primarily known as an actress.

Magda Szubanski speaks candidly about her life during a special interview for A Current Affair on Monday night. The 55-year-old funny woman opens up about her sexuality with host Tracey Grimshaw, and in a teaser for the sit down refers to herself as 'a single, fat, lesbian middle-aged woman'. The English-born star, who is said to have 'broken a lot of barriers' according to Tracy, will no doubt speak about her published book Reckoning: A Memoir, in which she details her battle coming to terms with her sexuality.

Rye Hunt, 25, and Mitchell Sheppard (pictured together at the start of their trip) argued at the airport in Rio de Janeiro on May 21 before Mr Hunt, who is from Hobart, vanished in a taxi. Police in Rio have found his backpack, laptop and camera but are refusing to tell his distraught family where they were located or if his phone, passport or wallet have yet been found. The tradesman's girlfriend and uncle will travel to Brazil next week to help Mr Sheppard, who is still there, look for him.

Kyle Zandipour (left), a 29-year-old bank worker has been found guilty of murdering university student Joshua Hardy, 21, (right) in a violent, unprovoked attack outside a McDonald's restaurant in south-eastern Melbourne that lasted only six seconds. A jury found Zandipour had targeted the law student in October 2014, whom he kicked and stomped. Mr Hardy was pronounced dead within an hour of arriving at hospital. His father David said after the conviction that 'everyone loses'.

On the surface Russian family Svetlana and Yuriy Panteleenko appear like any other ordinary couple, but for their 23-year-old bear named Stepan. Standing at more than seven foot, the 300lb mammal is so domesticated the family often sit down together in the evenings to watch television. And the bear, which was adopted by the couple when he was three months old, has even been known to help out around the house - or at least in the garden - by watering the plants. According to the couple, Stepan stocks up on a hefty 25kg of fish, vegetables and eggs a day and likes nothing more than a 'cuddle'.

NEW Professor Green has taken to Twitter after his ex-wife Millie Mackintosh was pictured kissing her new boyfriend Hugo Taylor just days after their divorce. A mother who was rushed to hospital after a serious car crash with her newborn baby has battled through pain for more than four hours without strong painkillers so she could breastfeed her daughter. Danni Bett was travelling with her newborn baby Indi on the outskirts of Christchurch, New Zealand, when she lost control of her vehicle and smashed into a metal fence, 'totalling' the car. Ms Bett refused strong pain killers for four hours as she underwent a series of X-Rays, ultrasounds and other tests, just so she could breastfeed her daughter. Upon being wheeled back to her room the mother pleaded with the nurse to let her feed Indi. 'I asked if I could feed her, but they said no and suggested a bottle, but I said "Please, don't",' Ms Bett said.

NEW Mexican star striker Alan Pulido has been rescued after being snatched by a group of armed, masked men while travelling home from a party in the border state of Tamaulipas on Saturday night. Federal and state forces mounted a large-scale rescue operation after the 25-year-old footballer (pictured left after his release) was abducted, with reports of at least two police or military helicopters scanning the area. Pulido and his girlfriend (together, right), who was unharmed, were attacked in the state capital of Cuidad Victoria, an area which has been plagued by violence related to a drug war between rival gangs.

A large green tree frog has been snapped devouring his cousin in the Northern Territory. The smaller Roth's tree frog appears to be screaming in agony as his eyes bulge in terror as he is gobbled up. Photographer Kate Cook snapped the image after rushing outside to investigate a 'horrible squealing noise'.

Father-of-two, Brad Kearns (left and right), 27, spent a day looking after his six-week-old and two-year-old sons (right) after his wife was admitted to hospital with liver failure. The doting father, from Tuggerah, New South Wales, wrote an honest post (part of it inset) about his experience which has since been shared over 30,000 times. Speaking to Daily Mail Australia, Mr Kearns said he was overwhelmed by the praise he has received so far and that it was eye-opening to experience looking after the children full time because his wife makes it look effortless. 'The thing is I'm not even sick. So when I visited her in hospital yesterday we had a laugh about the difference it was for me and Sarah said "you should do updates on Facebook so you remember how hard it is",' Mr Kearns explained.

A series of photographs taken inside the Langfang International Tattoo Show in the Hebei province, south of Beijing, China, show some of the incredible artwork people have covering their bodies. People from all over the world travelled to the show, some to show off their collection while other were there to get new tattoos. British F3 racing driver Ameya Vaidyanathan cheated death at Oulton Park in Cheshire on Saturday. His car was launched into the air after a horrific collision with Sisa Ngebulana. Despite the dramatic crash, and the vehicle being a total wreck afterwards, Carlin's Ameya emerged from the Medical Centre unscathed. Terrifying images reveal just how bad the collision was, with debris being hurled through the air. And a shocking video shows the blue car spinning around out of control after colliding on Lap 7 of the race.
