Johnny Depp's bodyguard has said the Hollywood actor's estranged wife Amber Heard is 'making up' accusations of domestic abuse in order to boost her divorce settlement, it is claimed.

The bodyguard was overheard making comments on the messy divorce row at the hotel lobby where Depp's band is staying ahead of their gig in Denmark tonight.

Depp is staying in The Royal Hotel in Aarhus, the country's second-largest city which is located west of Copenhagen, where rooms cost around £1,500 a night.

The bodyguard who made the claims is believed to be Jerry Judge, a British security professional who has worked with Depp for about 15 years.

He is alleged to have said: 'The things she is saying are not true... She is making things up to hurt Johnny’s reputation and make her look like the victim.

'She is exaggerating what she says he did to her to get a bigger divorce payout... that’s the only reason. To say Johnny assaulted her is a lie. She is making it up.

'I don’t believe her... Johnny wouldn’t hurt her.'

Both Depp and Heard's representatives did not respond to requests for comment from MailOnline, though his lawyers have denied claims he abused her.

Meanwhile, Depp was seen drinking a beer at the hotel's English-style bar when he first arrived at the accommodation late last night.

The four-star hotel, which is located in the city centre, has a casino, nightclub and garden restaurant among its features.

Built in 1838, it boasts of a neoclassical style which includes stained glass windows, several hundred pieces of art, glass chandeliers and rooms filled with antique furniture.

Tonight they play a gig at Fængslet, a former state penitentiary that now operates as a cultural centre, in the nearby city of Horsens.

He and his bandmates had arrived at their hotel from Sweden, where on Monday night they played a sold out show at Stockholm then carried on the party afterwards at their hotel bar.

It was there the 52-year-old star, who has been hiding out in his room for much of the band's European tour so far, was seen emerging from his top-floor suite at 1am on Tuesday morning.

The bar at the Grand Hotel in Stockholm was closing and other guests were leaving when Depp arrived, but staff re-opened especially for the star and his party.

He was flanked by a mystery brunette woman for much of the party, and they were joined by two friends, standing close together and talking intimately at the bar.

Meanwhile, details of Heard's finances have now emerged, revealing the 30-year-old has a basic monthly income of around £16,900 a month, but spends almost £30,000 a month on basic expenses.

This includes £6,900 a month on rent, another £6,900 a month on 'entertainment, gifts and vacations', £1,000 a month on clothes, £1,400 a month on eating out and even £210 a month on laundry and dry cleaning.

The actress also spent £1,400 on auto expenses and transport and her red Dodge charger is still parked outside Depp's palatial Los Angeles home.

In addition she also spends another £6,900 a month on miscellaneous costs such as pet supplies, and paying for her publicist and agent.

She is also paying her attorney Samantha Spector £380 per hour to represent her in her divorce from Depp.

Last year her total income including cash from her film work and promotions was £170,000 while her expenditure was £145,000, leaving her a small profit.

However, the papers show that so far this year, she has only earned £12,000 but has spent $18,000 on professional expenses related to her production company.

She also has £17,000 of savings in the bank and is still making residuals from her roles in The Rum Diaries and Magic Mike XXL.

Heard filed for divorce from Depp last week requesting he pay her spousal support of £34,500 a month plus her legal costs.

A California judge shot down Heard's request for spousal support in court on Friday.

But she cited irreconcilable differences for the split, which has triggered a battle over Depp's huge £280million fortune.

The documents come as Heard's lawyers issued a lengthy statement yesterday insisting she was a victim of domestic violence and her actions in divorcing Depp were not motivated by money.

She alleges that she 'lived in fear' of her husband of 15 months and that he had been abusive.

The actress's lawyers said in a statement that Heard had at first declined to give a statement to the LAPD regarding the abuse but was later forced to so she could 'set the record straight'.

Her lead attorney Samantha F Spector and her co-counsel Joseph P Koenig said: 'As the result of Amber’s decision to decline giving an initial statement to the LAPD, her silence has been used against her by Johnny’s team.

'Amber did not provide a statement to the LAPD in an attempt to protect her privacy and Johnny’s career. Johnny’s team has forced Amber to give a statement to the LAPD to set the record straight as to the true facts, as she cannot continue to leave herself open to the vicious false and malicious allegations that have infected the media.

'Amber has suffered through years of physical and psychological abuse at the hands of Johnny.'

'In domestic violence cases, it is not unusual for the perpetrator's playbook to include miscasting the victim as the villain.'
