RHOA's Cynthia Bailey and husband Peter Thomas split after almost six years of marriage

The Real Housewives Of Atlanta's Cynthia Bailey and her husband Peter Thomas have split.

The 49-year-old and her husband of almost six years revealed news of their separation to The Daily Dish on Tuesday.

Cynthia told the website: 'Peter and I are separated. He lives in Charlotte, and I live in Atlanta.'

The reality star also told The Daily Dish that during their separation, she plans on 'taking some time to myself to figure out how I want to move forward.' 

Adding: 'I don't want to rush anything, so I think this time apart is good for us.'

The beauty also told The Daily Dish that: 'I think the space apart, I think he can appreciate it as well. I think it gives people time to think and process and just move forward in a way that really is healthy for everyone involved.'

The couple, who met in 2008, married on July 24, 2010; their wedding was featured during a January 2011 episode of the RHOA.

Over the Memorial Day weekend, Cynthia shared photos to her Instagram while spending time with friends during a trip to Puerto Rico.

The mom of one posted a photo on Tuesday while sporting a black swim top and denim shorts, captioning it: 'Miss u already Puerto Rico.'

The model also shared a picture of herself rocking a bikini, writing: 'Find your peace #xscapepuertorico.'

Meanwhile, Peter spent time with his youngest son, Bryce, 12, as seen on his Instagram. 

The duo enjoyed quality time together in Miami, which the father of five described as: 'greatest day ever' in his caption.

Cynthia and Peter have been open about their marriage struggles on the RHOA, especially during the premiere of season eight.

During the episode, the twosome hit a rough spot after cell phone video showed Peter being touchy feely with another women while at a club.

However, the two were seen rekindling their love while on a trip to Jamaica, as seen in the season finale.

By the reunion special, it appeared that they were once more working on their marriage.

In March, Cynthia revealed to Andy Cohen on his radio show that being in the spotlight and married has not been easy.
