Pictures showing Geordie Shore's Scotty T peering through the scope of a firearm have emerged following his arrest on Sunday evening.

The reality star, 28, can be seen sprawled across the roof of a blue BMW M4 beside a pal while aiming the air weapon in a residential area.

It appears Scotty was posing for a Snapchat image as the words 'Scotty sniper' had been laid over the picture.

While his hoody-wearing pal had a look of excitement on his face, Scotty appeared focused on a target in the distance as he squinted for a better view.

The cheeky chappy wore a black cap and an off-white jumper with the sleeves rolled up to reveal a gold watch.

He rested against the windscreen and crossed one leg over the other as he knelt at the top of the bonnet. 

While Scotty has apologised for his actions, he is due to talk Geordie Shore bosses through the incident, a source told the Sun Online.

The insider said: 'Scott is a big part of the cast over at Geordie Shore and this has gone down like a tonne of bricks.

'He has to go and see the Head of Programming and Exec Producers of Geordie Shore to give his version of events.

'He's hugely popular and the bosses realise how important he is to the show, so they will do everything they can to help him, but they need some answers.' 

The star apologised for his 'foolish' behaviour after being arrested for possession of an air weapon in Newcastle on Sunday evening.

In a statement released on Tuesday night, the MTV reality star Scotty T - born Scott Timlin - confirmed that he had been cautioned and released by Northumbria Police on Monday morning, with the star pictured looking worried as he left the police station in the early hours.

Fun-loving Scotty was caught with a firearm in a public place, something which on reflection was 'meant to be a mindless piece of fun.'

A representative for the former Celebrity Big Brother winner told MailOnline: 'This was meant to be a mindless piece of fun, but Scott realises how foolish it was and apologises for wasting police time.

'Scott complied with police and was cautioned and released.' 

The reality TV star was seen leaving the police station in the early hours of Monday morning, looking noticeably shaken up after being held for six hours.

Scotty was dressed in ripped jeans and a green jacket, taking his baseball cap of his head and running his hands through his hair as he waited to for a lift home.

Police later confirmed that an arrest was made. 

A statement issued by police said: 'On Monday, May 30, a 28-year-old man was arrested and given a caution for possession of an air weapon in a public place.'

The Sun claims that Scotty's apartment was also searched by forces while he was being questioned on Sunday.

According to the newspaper, the MTV star is said to have 'appeared distressed' after being 'forced to admit' the he had brandished the air weapon in public.  

Hours after his arrest, the Northern star took to his Twitter account and wrote a cryptic message - possibly a reference to his turbulent night.

In a message to his 1.54million followers, he wrote: 'Well that was a horrendous 6 hours (sic),' followed by a sobbing emoji.

A caution will remain on the star's criminal record and could mean that he will be denied entry to certain countries; which could prove problematic for Geordie Shore bosses. 

Scotty was previously arrested in February 2014 and later appeared before Prestatyn magistrates for allegedly punching Sam Hilson in the head at Rhyl nightclub.

The star was soon back to his usual cheeky humour when he was seen tweeting about Millie Mackintosh's romance with new beau, Hugo Taylor, on Tuesday morning.

Scotty has been a part of the Geordie Shore cast since 2012, but has also featured in dating show Ex On The Beach. 

The reality TV star started 2016 by winning the 17th series of Celebrity Big Brother on Channel 5, triumphing over former Hollyoaks actress Stephanie Davis and actress Danniella Westbrook.
