This week marked the 10-year anniversary of one of TV's best-known reality shows: The Hills.

The show, which ran from 2006 to 2010 for six seasons, followed the dramatic life of Lauren Conrad and her friends as she pursued a fashion career and looked for love.

Now, a decade since it's debut on May 31, 2006, a reunion special of the show is due to air on MTV.

Here, FEMAIL shares how your favourite Hills stars have weathered the intervening years.

LAUREN CONRAD

Then just 20 years old, Lauren was a star in her own right thanks to her role on Laguna Beach: The Real Orange County. In fact, The Hills was conceived as a spinoff of the show, based around Lauren's pursuit of an education in fashion.

After six seasons of ups and downs with plenty of drama, Lauren left The Hills to embark on her fashion career.

She also became a writer, releasing the 2009 novel L.A. Candy and several other publications since - including her latest party planning book, Celebrate. Today, she runs a lifestyle website and creates designs for her fashion lines Paper Crown and LC Lauren Conrad.

During the run of The Hills, Lauren dated the likes of badboy Jason Wahler, Hills co-star Brody Jenner and former Laguna Beach flame Doug Reinhardt.

At the end of the series she was dating actor Kyle Howard, but the pair split in 2011, shortly before Lauren met her future husband, musician William Tell.

The 30-year-old reality star and the Something Corporate singer tied the knot in 2014 remain together.

AUDRINA PATRIDGE

Audrina was best known on the show for her rollercoaster relationship with mop-haired bad boy Justin Bobby, as well as Ryan Cabrera. She stayed on as a cast member of the show right up until the final season.

After the conclusion of The Hills, she went on to compete on the 11th season of Dancing with the Stars where she placed 7th.

Audrina also went on to head up her own reality show, hosted NBC travel program 1st Look and even enjoyed several acting roles in films including Scary Movie 5, Dream Maker and Sorority Row.

Since 2008, Audrina has been dating BMX rider Corey Bohan.

In 2015, after gaining permission from her parents, he proposed and Audrina accepted. In December, the pair revealed that they are expecting their first child - a baby girl.

Audrina has also been rumoured to have had a number of cosmetic surgery procedures including a breast augmentation, rhinoplasty and a chin augmentation.

HEIDI MONTAG AND SPENCER PRATT

Throughout the first season of The Hills, Heidi and Lauren were best friends living together, but their relationship quickly deteriorated after Heidi began dating Spencer Pratt in season two.

The tension and drama came to a head in the third season when the two fell out following Spencer - who was quickly labelled the show villain - spreading a rumor of a sex tape between Lauren and one of her ex boyfriends.

The pair, who eventually married on the show, were known as Speidi and were a love-to-hate pair of characters throughout the show's run, eventually making their final appearance in season six.

Heidi gained plenty of notoriety outside of The Hills, particularly for her extensive plastic surgery, which, in 2010, she said involved ten cosmetic surgery operations including having her brows lifted, her chin reduced and her ears pinned, not to mention a pair of nose jobs and breast augmentations.

She also released a universally panned album, Superficial, in 2010 shortly before ending her run with Spencer on The Hills.

Over the years the pair remained in the public eye with appearances on the likes of I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here, Celebrity Big Brother, and even Marriage Boot Camp.

WHITNEY PORT

As a fellow intern at Teen Vogue with Lauren from the first season, Whitney stuck with the cast for two years before running off to star in her own spinoff series, The City, which ran from 2008 to 2010.

The show documented her move to New York City and rise of her fashion career which began with a job at Diane von Fürstenberg.

During the run of The City, Whitney accepted a role at People's Revolution, started her own fashion line, Whitney Eve, and had plenty of drama between herself and boyfriend Jay Lyon and her co-worker Olivia Palermo.

Since the conclusion of The City, she has appeared as judge and host for shows including Britain and Ireland's Next Top Model. and Genuine Ken: The Search for the Great American Boyfriend.

She also appeared on online series Hollywood is Like High School with Money.

She also released a book about her life entitled True Whit: Designing a Life of Style, Beauty, and Fun in 2011.

While working on The City, Whitney met her husband-to-be in producer Tim Rosenman who she began dating in 2012. The pair married in 2015.

BRODY JENNER

Brody joined the cast of The Hills in 2007 after he began dating Lauren Conrad and was also friends with Spencer Pratt - though that bromance went through its own dramas throughout (and after) the show.

The same year he started on The Hills, he also made his first appearance on Keeping Up with the Kardashians alongside his father Caitlyn Jenner, then Bruce.

In 2015, Brody was back in the spotlight with his family as he supported his father transitioning into Caitlyn, and also appeared in an episode of I Am Cait.

Outside of TV Brody gained somewhat of a reputation for going after high-profile women, having relationships with the likes of Avril Lavigne, Nicole Richie and Playmate of the Year Jayde Nicole.

However, since 2013, he has been with blogger Kaitlynn Carter. The 32-year-old star and his lady love became engaged just earlier this month.

JASON WAHLER

Jason proved himself to be a bit of a ladies man during his run on Laguna Beach with ex-girlfriend Jessica, but later became the love interest for Lauren Conrad on The Hills.

He was a recurring cast member for the first three seasons of the show but later descended into serious substance abuse, with his alcoholism and addiction to cocaine having a serious impact on his relationship with Lauren.

He entered rehab several times, appeared on season four of Celebrity Rehab With Dr. Drew and recently admitted to attempting suicide at his lowest point in 2009.

Getting over it: Jason struggled with alcoholism and cocaine addiction while on the show and after leaving even attempted suicide. He has been clean since 2010

Sober since 2010, Jason has since opened sober living facility Widespread Recovery in Orange County and works towards raising awareness of substance abuse.

In 2013 he married model Ashley Slack and the pair are hoping to have a family by 2017.

KRISTIN CAVALLARI

A fellow former Laguna Beach: The Real Orange County cast mate, Kristin's dramatic feud with Lauren continued throughout The Hills.

But Kristin was never content with being just a reality star and boasted roles on the likes of CSI: NY and Veronica Mars. Also, like co-star Audrina, Kristin later competed on Dancing with the Stars in 2011.

Since The Hills wrapped in 2010, Kristin has supplemented her work on the small screen with philanthropy.

She also gave birth to three children in less than four years with her husband, NFL player Jay Cutler, who she wed in 2013.

Not everything has been smooth sailing for Kristin however, with the star losing her brother Michael Cavallari in 2015.

Michael died of hypothermia 200 miles south of Salt Lake City after a car accident.

A month later, in January 2016, 29-year-old Kristin herself was in a car wreck, where she suffered minor injuries.

JUSTIN BOBBY

Justin and Audrina's up and down relationship provided plenty of drama for fans of The Hills between 2007 and 2010.

Before appearing on the show, Justin worked as a hairstylist to the stars.

After departing from the show, Justin largely retired from the spotlight, focusing on his hairstyling career by opening up a series of salons and even released a line of haircare products called Brush Your Hair.

He also plays in a hard rock band called Bobbyrock.

LO BOSWORTH

Another former Laguna Beach co-star, Lo joined the cast in 2007 and moved in with Lauren and Audrina. Bubbly Lo was a fan favorite up until the show ended in 2010.

After the conclusion of the show, Lo, now 29, created the website The Lo Down by Lo Bosworth, along with a book of the same name.

STEPHANIE PRATT

Spencer's little sister joined the show in the third season in 2008, becoming friends with Lauren and therefore causing tension between herself and Speidi.

Before appearing on the show, Stephanie struggled with bulimia and an addiction to crystal meth.

She overcame her struggles and was clean for the most part over the course of the show.

Since the show's conclusion, 30-year-old Stephanie has found fame abroad as a cast member on the UK's Made in Chelsea and was on Celebrity Big Brother in 2014.
