'Making time for yourself is hard': Kristin Cavallari admits becoming a mother made her realize 'how selfish she was' as she poses for stunning Modeliste cover

  • The 29-year-old mother-of-three appears on the June issue in a shoot that took place in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico
  • She admits it is hard to find time for herself when caring for Camden, Jaxon, and Saylor
  • She also said it's sad when her husband Jay Cutler is gone for football for five months of the year, so she is looking forward to his summer vacation
  • On a lighter note, the former reality star detailed her beauty routine and talked about her favorite trends

Kristin Cavallari says she's changed since becoming a mom — and it wouldn't be hard to argue that part of that change is that she's now more glamorous than ever.

The 29-year-old certainly looks stunning as she covers the June issue of Modeliste, posing inside its pages in swimwear, evening gowns, and maxi dresses in pictures taken around Puerto Vallarta, Mexico.

And while the former reality star admitted to the magazine that having three little ones has changed her perspective on life and made her less focused on herself, that doesn't mean her love of fashion and make-up has been stamped out, and she opens up about her favorite trends and beauty routine in the new issue.

Lie in tie-dye with a dress by Maria Lucia Hohan like Kristin

Kristin Cavallari takes a moment out of her busy mom schedule to model for Moseliste down in Mexico.

In her spread, she's photographed in a glamorous but effortless floor length maxi by the Romanian designer that has a knack for Grecian inspired chiffon dresses. It's by none other than Maria Lucia Hohan ofcourse. The designer has been spotted on the red carpet dressing stars like Kate Hudson and Carrie Underwood.

This kind of dress is the most flattering kind since it shows off your arms but hides any bloating. It's great for post-baby mother's getting their figure back.

So click right to buy her Maria Lucia Hohan gown from the designer's website and turn heads at your next holiday or run to the store. We can imagine wearing this in Majorca or Melrose, it's just so versatile.

But we've also rounded up some affordable alternatives in our edit below, have a look to see if anything catches you eye.

Kristin has three children with her Chicago Bears Quarterback husband, Jay Cutler: three-year-old son Camden, two-year-old son Jaxon, and six-month-old daughter Saylor.

But growing her family hasn't made the former reality star slow down. She now juggles being a mom with her many business ventures, including her jewelry line, Emerald Dove, her shoe line for Chinese Laundry, and her book, Balancing in Heels.

And while she sometimes has to travel away from their Chicago home to work in New York in LA, Kristin remains incredibly dedicated to parenting her children, sharing a picture several months ago of herself pumping breast milk in the middle of her book tour. And she says that need to constantly be there for her little ones has made her look at life differently.

'When you finally have kids, you realize how selfish you are. I think we are naturally selfish beings. When you have kids, that can kind of be a shock at first.

'I think just trying to make time for yourself is very hard. Especially now that I have three,' she said, explaining that in addition to balancing caretaking duties with her work, she also cooks dinner almost every night.

Not that she's complaining. Kristin added that since becoming a mom, she feels like she has 'a purpose here in life' and a 'real identity'.

In fact, she's doubled down on her business since giving birth to Camden in 2012, and is still earning magazine covers six years after her second reality show, The Hills, wrapped.

For this one, she rocks a tropical, Effie-Trinkett-from-The-Hunger-Games-inspired look, with colorful butterflies perched in her hair and a bold pink pout to match.

In other shots, she gives her best Angelina Jolie leg in a gold gown with a thigh-high slit, lounges on a rock in a tie-dye maxi, and piles on the statement jewels while posing in a bikini, her hair slicked back in a wet look.

Kristin attributes her great skin to her habit of taking off her make-up and washing her face with a cleanser every night. She also sees a facialist near one of her homes, in Nashville, who makes her custom Koji skin pads.

'I don't even know what is in them, but they totally changed my skin,' she shared, adding that she also uses peptide gel, Vitamin C serum, and eye cream.

After skincare, her must-have make-up is Armani's Lashes to Kill mascara, which she insists is the 'best mascara I've ever used'.

The star also talked about her fashion favorites, saying she still favors her classic black Chanel bag, a Louis Vuitton make-up case to keep in side, and sunglasses, like the mirrored Illesteva pair she just bought.

But her ultimate summer go-tos? Rompers and lace-up sandals, both of which she describes as 'sexy'.

'I think rompers are great because they're sexy, they're easy, and all you need to do is grab a romper, a sexy pair of shoes, accessories, and you're done,' she said. As for lace-up sandals, 'Once I had kids, I started wearing a lot more flats because they're practical. But when they lace up, they're still really sexy and on-trend so you feel great.'

Kristin will likely be wearing a lot of her 'sexy' favorites in the next month while hubby Jay is home. She said that he's off from his busy football schedule from mid-June to the end of July, so she's thrilled to get to spend plenty of time with him at their Nashville home.

'We actually do nothing, which is really nice. And then my husband goes to training camp at the end of July. He plays football, so that's always kind of sad because I don't have him for the next five months or so,' she admitted.
