Legend has it a giant, hairy creature that is half man and half ape roams the world in secrecy. The story of Bigfoot has been circling the globe for centuries and now one man claims to have proof that the massive beast did exist. While hiking near his home in Ogden, Utah, Todd May stumbled upon a 75-pound object that he says is the fossilized head of Sasquatch. However, experts have weighed in and say the object is nothing more than a weathered rock.

From brothels to an Apple Store: Interactive site reveals the evolution of New York's Greene Street over 400 years
NYU economists analysed the evolution of a SoHo microcosm, looking at the development and decline of just one block on Greene Street in NYC over 400 years. In the Greene Street Project, NYU economists analysed the evolution of a SoHo microcosm, looking at the development and decline of the 486 feet that make up just one Greene Street block. The photo pictured on the top left reveals a glimpse at ‘Packing Box City’ where the homeless and unemployed took shelter in the 1930s. In center, a 1940’s look at Greene Street shows the building that now houses an Apple Store (pictured below). The photo on the right shows the block in the 1950s, decades before the area filled with designer stores, pictured on the bottom.

'See-through' tanks are coming: Military tech lets soldiers plot enemy routes while remaining behind heavily armoured walls
BattleView 360, developed by Virginia-based BAE Systems, aims to get around visibility issues by incorporating data feeds from cameras and sensors and streaming the information to a display for the soldier (illustrated). The technology is a progression of that already being tested by fighter pilots, such as the F-35 jet’s helmet which incorporates 360 video, navigation and weapons systems data. The heads up display can incorporate a vehicle’s camera feeds, giving troops a 360 view of their surroundings and effectively enabling them to see through the walls of the vehicle.
What would happen to Earth if humans disappeared? Video shows how the terrifying sequence of doomsday events would unfold
According to a new video created for viral YouTube channel, #Mind Warehouse, using footage created by National Geographic, within a few hours most of the lights would turn off. In just days millions of cows would die and within months and nuclear disasters would strike around the world. Structures like the Statue of Liberty would come crashing down after hundreds of years. After thousands of years the only evidence of our existence would be in the form of stone structures like the Great Wall of China or Mount Rushmore.
Friends for FORTY years: Never-before-seen pictures show how Koko the gorilla struck up an inseparable bond with the trainer who taught her to communicate
Never-before-seen pictures and footage of gorilla Koko and her trainer Penny Patterson who met in San Francisco in 1971 are set to form part of a new BBC documentary. The clips and images were taken by Dr Ron Cohn, who filmed more than 2,000 hours of footage showing how Ms Paterson and 300-pound Koko formed their incredible relationship. When Ms Paterson first met a newborn Koko at the San Francisco Zoo, she started an experiment to see if she could teach the gorilla sign language. The animal then began to master hundreds of signs, and could communicate her thoughts to her keeper.
The violent death throes of a supernova revealed: Stunning supercomputer simulations show star DYING in 3D
When a star explodes, it can be bright enough to outshine entire galaxies. These stunning supernovas are created when a star, after several million years, collapses in on itself in its final death throes. Now, researchers in Michigan have used one of the government's most powerful supercomputers to recreate exactly what happens in 3D.
What is this streak of light captured by ISS cameras? Footage shows ‘fireball UFO’ passing in view of space station
According to the video’s narrator, SecureTeam received the footage via email from someone who was combing through hours of recordings of ISS live streams. It shows a streak of light passing behind the International Space Station when the orbiting base is in the shadow of the Earth (pictured main and zoomed in inset). The consensus among YouTubers is a meteor or space debris – such as a discarded stage of a rocket launch – burning up as it enters Earth’s atmosphere.
The $850 gadget that can fold your laundry perfectly with robot arms and even steam out creases - and all in under a minute
A consumer survey reveals 46 percent of homeowners want appliances that fold clothes for them. A San Francisco startup understands some detest folding laundry and is set to release a device that does it automatically – for just $700 to $850. Dubbed ‘Your laundry folding friend’, FoldiMate uses a conveyor belt, several robotic arms and an adjustable tray that pushes out expertly folded apparel in less than a minute. Users simply clip their freshly washed garments to the integrated rack located on the outside of FoldiMate, set preferences and in minutes, will have nicely folded and pressed clothes.
Astonishing footage captures meteor lighting up the sky over Arizona after rocketing into Earth's atmosphere at thousands of miles an hour
Residents in the Phoenix, Arizona metro area were shocked early Thursday by a loud flash and bang in the sky. Meteorite expert Laurence Garvie said the flash and bang was likely a single meteor breaking up in the Earth's atmosphere. Video footage shows the skies went from dark to instantly bright — and then grew even brighter. It produced a loud boom that awoke people who were sleeping.
Stunning new image of Pluto's 'twilight zone' reveals mysterious giant wisp of 'cloud' in the atmosphere
Nasa's New Horizons spacecraft took this stunning image of Pluto only a few minutes after closest approach on July 14, 2015. It shows sunlight filtering through and illuminating Pluto's complex atmospheric haze layers (bottom tight image). It also appears to show a cloud (top right) - which Nasa describes as ' an intriguing bright wisp measuring tens of miles'.
The 'death ray' that can knock out drones from six miles away: UAV-freezing gun will soon be trialled by airports across the US
Three British companies developed the Anti-UAV Defense System or 'Auds' (pictured right), which is due to be included in new trials by the US aviation authority. The system is uses high powered radio waves to disable drones, effectively blocking their communication and switching them off in midair. The technology will be tested at several airports (stock picture, left) to be selected by the FAA.
Tutankhamun had a space dagger: Blade found beside ancient Egyptian boy king's mummy was made from a METEORITE
A dagger found in the sarcophagus of the ancient Egyptian pharaoh Tutankhamun (inner coffin pictured left) has been found to have a similar chemical composition to a meteorite found in Maras Matruh, Egypt. The iron blade (pictured top right) appears to have been forged from metal found in the meteorite and reveals the remarkable skill of metal workers at the time. The researchers, from Pisa University and Milan Polytechnic in Italy along with the Egyptian Museum in Cairo, say it provides new insights into the origins of iron in ancient Egypt. They say the ancient Egyptians appear to have known the iron in the meteorites fell from the sky, something that took western civilisations another two millennia to discover. An iron meteorite similar to the one thought to have been used to make Tutankhamun's dagger is pictured bottom right.
The Vikings are back in North America! Replica 'dragon' ship finally reaches Newfoundland after Atlantic crossing
After a treacherous journey across the North Atlantic Ocean, the largest Viking ship in current existence has reached North America. The Viking ‘dragon’ vessel 'Draken Harald Hårfagre' is a real-life reconstruction of a ‘Great ship’ from the Norse Sagas, and departed over a month ago from Haugesund, Norway. The crew battled harsh weather and unexpected troubles as they traversed the ancient routes used by Viking sailors 1000 years ago, before safely anchoring at St Anthony in Newfoundland, Canada.
Jupiter as you've never seen it: 3D map of gas giant reveals its turbulent atmosphere and colourful clouds in incredible detail
Astronomers using the Very Large Array in Mexico used radio waves to peer beneath Jupiter's thick cloud cover to reveal the churning gas up to 60 miles beneath the visible surface. Ammonia gas could be seen rising to form clouds of toxic ammonium hydrosuphide and clouds of ammonia ice could also be seen forming beneath the visible surface. Scientists say the radio wave images (pictured) have given them new insights into what lies deep inside Jupiter's turbulent atmosphere.

Bizarre 'UFO craft' captured on film 'floating with the clouds' close to a US military base in Ohio
The craft was seen floating in the sky close to the Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Ohio, near Dayton. The base has been the subject of multiple sightings since the end of WWII (inset). The film shows a mystery object in the sky, floating in the air with its pointed end facing downwards, along with strange markings along the side of the craft. Then, just as the camera zooms in on unusual object, it fades from view and disappears into the clouds
The world's longest rail tunnel, running for 35 miles under the Swiss Alps, opens on schedule and within budget at £8.5 billion - and it will mean a MILLION less trucks on the roads
High-speed trains will whisk passengers through a mountain range that divides northern and southern Europe between Erstfeld in the Swiss canton of Uri, to Bodio in the Ticino canton. Experts have described the completion of the 17-year construction project as a 'masterpiece of timing, cost and policy'. Around 260 freight trains and 65 passenger trains will traverse the two-tube tunnel daily once final testing ends later this year. Goods that are currently transported along the same route by a million lorries a year will now go by train in just 17 minutes.
The angel that looks over the 'birthplace of Jesus': Incredible mosaic discovered under plaster walls in the Church of the Nativity in Bethlehem
An eight-foot-tall angel hidden beneath plaster for hundreds of years has now been uncovered at the ‘birthplace of Jesus.’ The elaborate mosaic was found during restoration on the Church of the Nativity in Bethlehem, built nearly 1,700 years ago. Technicians delicately scraped away layers of plaster to reveal the ancient tiles that have survived centuries of neglect, and are now working to bring it back to life. The angel is pictured above, and the inset photos on the right show the progression as plaster was carefully scraped away.
Earliest handwritten 'notepad' unearthed in London: Discovery of 410 wooden tablets gives glimpse into life of city's first Romans
An archaeological dig in London has turned up the earliest known handwritten documents in Britain among hundreds of Roman waxed writing tablets (pictured inset). Among the hundreds of wooden tablets were preserved examples of Roman characters (pictured main), scrawled across the surface. Researchers say the tablets would have had a number of uses, from note-taking to financial records. Engraved in one of the wooden tablets is what appears to be the first line of an address and the earliest reference to London around 65 AD (pictured main). It reads 'In London, to Mogontius'
