Is that your amazing technicolour dreamcoat? Energetic Elton John performs in a vivid jewel encrusted jacket in Germany

He's known for his eye-catching and often outrageous outfit choices.

And Elton John proved that he wasn't ready to ditch his flamboyant style yet, as he took to the stage in Germany wearing a vibrant multicoloured coat.

The 69-year-old was a vision of youth in the characteristically wacky ensemble as he put on an animated display for his adoring fans, on Friday.

As he sat down at the piano to blast out some of his infamous tunes, the Rocket Man singer, stood out from the stage in firey shades of red, orange and yellow, which he contrasted against a deep navy background.

And he made sure to add some sparkle to his look as his blazer was adorned with a smattering of silver and sapphire jewels.

But Sir Elton didn't stop there, as he teamed his striking jacket with an electric blue silk shirt that coordinated perfectly with his metallic loafers.

And even his loose fitting tuxedo trousers had a show-stopping edge as they featured a dazzling golden stripe.

Known for his zany choice in glasses, the singer finally rounded off his out-there style with a pair of blue tinted specs, with silver wire frames.

The father-of-two was performing at the Uelzen Open R Festival in Uelzen and was seen giving an energetic display of his musical abilities as he sung, played the piano and made a cheeky peace sign to the crowds.

Sir Elton is currently in the middle of his epic world tour and just five days ago he was performing in Russia.

Boasting over 40 years in the industry, it's no surprise that the music legend has mastered the art of performing as he charmed the audiences with his high octane spectacle.

However, President Putin appeared not to be as thrilled with the star's presence as he backed out of a planned meeting with the British pop-star, who is also a gay rights activist.

The two exchanged words over the telephone last September when Putin pledged to meet the singing sensation to 'discuss whatever issues are of interest'.

However, the Kremlin has since revealed that a scheduling conflict meant the meeting, that was reportedly planned to take place on Monday when Elton performs in Mosco, would no longer go ahead.

Addressing journalists during a conference call, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said: 'We were in correspondence with him a couple of weeks ago, because there had been an agreement that, if their schedules allow, this meeting would take place.

'President Putin expressed readiness for this meeting. But this time, the meeting won't take place, unfortunately. Their schedules do not match up.'

They added: 'But this does not mean that such a meeting won't take place next time.'

Elton has been hoping for a meeting since last September when two Russian comedians telephoned and fooled him into believing that Putin had called him to discuss gay rights.
