Comedian Freddie Starr's wife Sophie, 34, is thought to have filed for divorce after finding love with another man. 

The couple's marriage has reportedly come to an end after Sophie cited 'unreasonable' behaviour amid claims she has found new love, three years after marrying the 73-year-old.

The mother-of-one who has a 15-year-old son, Elliott, from a previous relationship, is said to have fallen in love with a man in his early 40s named Andrew who she began dating earlier this year.

She and Starr wed in 2013, despite their 39 year age gap.

A friend of Sophie's told The Daily Mirror Sophie had 'fallen for Andrew' and was 'happier than she had been in years,' adding: 'She initially found it hard to let someone into her life again after Freddie but this time things finally seem right. 

'She feels so lucky to have found love again.'

The publication reported that Sophie had attempted to contact Starr, who is currently living in Mijas, on the Costa del Sol, five times to finalise the divorce but received no response.

The relationship allegedly came to a head last April after police were called to the couple's family home in Studley, Warwickshire.

The incident in question has been blamed on an altercation between Freddie and Sophie's younger son Elliott.

Sophie stood by Starr while he was under investigation by detectives from Operation Yewtree, who were probing allegations of child sex abuse following the Jimmy Savile revelations.

He was not charged with any offence in connection with the probe and eventually cleared by police after an 18-month investigation.

The father-of-six married his first wife Betty when he was 17. They had a son and divorced after 12 years. 

He went on to have three more children with his second wife, Sandy. 

His third wife, Donna, was 27 years younger than him. They had a daughter called Ebony, and were married and divorced twice.

He wed his fourth wife Sophie in January 2013. 

But in May, it was revealed that the 73-year-old's marriage to Sophie, had broken down and the pair had split.

Sophie has since spoken out alleging her husband cracked under the pressure of the abuse allegations and targeted his anger towards her.

She claimed he became impossible to live with at their £1million mansion and would fly into a rages if she tried to watch TV or read magazines.

In a previous interview with The Sun's Ryan Kisiel, she said the comedian would verbally abuse her on a daily basis, adding the marriage was 'hell'. 

She added:'If I asked him if he wanted a cup of tea and a scone and I forgot the scone, he would fly off the handle and accuse me of disrespecting and neglecting him. 

'On one occasion I was left with a black eye.'

MailOnline has contacted a representative for Starr and is awaiting a response.
