An entire block of flats is poised to tumble into the sea as coastal Sydney is battered by a king tide. For the third night in a row the northern beachside suburb of Collaroy has been smashed by the surf (main), with reports that six homes were completely destroyed on Monday night. The king tide swamped beaches and coastal areas (top left) with emergency services warning that exposed cliff faces and eroded chunks of coastline were at risk of falling away (bottom left). Residents living close to the beach were urged to leave the area and one witness said: 'Some houses are starting to break up. There's a very huge concern that these houses won't survive the night. They're very much teetering on the edge.' A spokesman for the NSW SES said the service had attended 32 callouts in the area. The king tide also hit further south in Coogee Beach (top right) and Maroubra beach, where heavy waves washed into the rocks underneath the South Maroubra Surf Lifesaving Club (bottom right).

'We have to pay rates, really expensive rates to live in this part of Collaroy... they don't look after you at all,' she said.

British grandmother Doreen Collyer, 60 (left), who is originally from Chester, Cheshire, was diving at a reef off Mindarie Beach, about 35 kilometres north of Perth, when she was attacked by a great white shark yesterday. Her husband David had been driving to the beach to meet her and her diving companion, John, when he saw helicopters hovering overhead. He arrived at the boat yard (centre) to be told by paramedics that his 'loving wife' had been killed by a shark described as being 'bigger than an 18ft boat'. Paying tribute to his 'beautiful wife' today, Mr Collyer said the pair - who have two children together and a granddaughter called Daisy - moved to Australia five years ago to be closer to their son and grandchild. He said: 'Doreen was a beautiful person and everyone loved her, she was a devoted grandmother, mother and loving wife.' Police said Mrs Collyer's 43-year-old diving partner John pulled her from the water after the attack yesterday but she had died before they made it back to shore. Three men who came to the pair's aid reported seeing a shark which was longer than their 18-foot long fishing boat (centre), while video footage filmed by another crew shows a 'huge' shark swimming in the same area as the attack just 90 minutes afterwards (top right). Banksy left Bridge Farm Primary a playground mural to say thank you

These dizzying photographs reveal the densely packed 'village' where thousands of Tibetan monks and nuns call home. Rudimentary log cabins, painted in traditional Tibetan red, are piled high along the hillsides and valleys. They're all centred around a palatial structure - the Larung Gar Buddhist Institute in Sichuan, China.

Video captures antelope swimming for its life from a crocodile as safari party urge it on

The intense footage was captured in South Africa and shows the large antelope cooling off in a lake when a hungry predator spots it from a distance. The sheer speed of the crocodile is what makes the video incredibly unsettling as it stalks its prey and moves in for the kill. The predator gains on the waterbuck with every second that passes before the creature spots the threat and swims to the side. What follows it's a nail-biting race for survival as the creature mounts the bank moments before the crocodile's jaws are able to snap down on it.
