Game of Thrones' Lena Headey shows off her lithe limbs in a pair of Daisy Dukes as she enjoys breakfast with a gal pal in Hollywood

She's currently appearing on TV screens as the incestuous queen mother Cersei Lannister in Game of Thrones.

And while Lena Headey's on-screen character might be going through a turbulent time in the hit fantasy epic, away from the show the star looked to be enjoying life as she hung out with a pal in West Hollywood on Saturday.

The English actress, 42, enjoyed breakfast on an outdoor terrace at Hugo's, sitting with her feet up on another chair while gesticulating as she spoke to her gal pal.

The star looked every inch the cool California girl in a dark grey vest top and Daisy Dukes which showed off her lithe limbs.

She wore a ring on a dainty chain around her neck and tied a black neckerchief around her short dark locks.

A band tattoo was visible around her right arm, while she covered her eyes with shades and wore her black bag with gold studded detailing securely in front of her.

As she sauntered beside her friend along the sidewalk she looked excited by something on her mobile and drew it to the attention of her pal.

Earlier this year Lena appeared on The Late Late Show with James Corden and shared an amusing anecdote about breastfeeding.

The actress revealed that because her daughter had jaundice and had to be kept in a bili bed, she was a little distressed.

'I was trying to breastfeed to calm her down, ' she continued. 'And - this is a lot of info for everyone - when you are in the early stages of breastfeeding you have to kind of get the milk in... and that takes a bit of 'hand milking' of sorts.'

She revealed that her 'fella' was trying to do it - badly - so the nurse suggested 'I think we should swap'.

'And I said yeah, because I was about to punch him, because it was like milking a goat. I was like "no, no: not a cow".'

But things got even weirder when the nurse took over.

'She came round and sat next to me and squeezed my nipple and went "Shame",' she recounted.

In the previous season of Game of Thrones Lena was paraded through the streets of King's Landing naked and shorn as the townsfolk pelted her with filth, and the old bell-ringing Septa Unella shouted 'Shame! Shame! Shame!'

'And she was holding my nipple so I couldn't really... I was... and then she said it again.'

As soon as the nurse realised what she'd done, she buried her hands in her head and declared 'I can't believe I said that'.
