CHANGE YOUR STYLE
As our bodies change, shapes and styles that suited us at one stage in our life might not work so well when we’re older.
Keep up-to-date with what’s in fashion and try new things every season. Changing your style will keep it fresh. If you’re always in plain fabrics, try prints.

Another great way to anti-age your wardrobe is to wear youthful accessories, such as ankle boots and statement bags.
IMAGINE YOURSELF YOUNG
I suffered a stroke when I was in my early 20s and since then I’ve realised that the greatest influence on how you feel, especially when it comes to growing older, is your mindset.
Your thinking changes the way your body functions. For a younger appearance, concentrate on your body and how it feels - imagine you are your 16-year-old self, walking with a group of friends. You’ll notice how your movements and expressions become much younger.
TAKE HRT
When I hit the menopause in my 50s I was grumpy, had no libido and put on a lot of weight. At first I tried to alleviate symptoms naturally, but nothing worked. Finally, my GP prescribed hormone replacement therapy and my life transformed within weeks.
My weight stabilised, my libido came back, my skin was clear and I could think clearly again. It may not be right for everyone, but HRT made me look and feel young, spirited and vibrant.
FAST FOR A DAY
I’m a great believer in fasting for one day a week in order to give your digestive system time to recuperate. Not only is this a brilliant way to stay trim, but a sluggish digestive system can make our skin, hair and nails dry and lacklustre.
On a fast day I drink only herbal teas, or if I’m very hungry I’ll have a small amount of protein that won’t be harsh on my stomach, such as cream cheese. I really notice the difference.
WEAR SUNGLASSES
Protecting your eyes is hugely important for your appearance and your enjoyment of life. When I’m in my 80s, I want to be able see properly and read books.
By protecting my eyes from the sun, even in winter, I keep my sight sharp and shield the delicate skin around the eye area from signs of ageing, such as crow’s feet.
