Former Bachelor star Tim Robards suffered a bicep injury in April which saw him undergo surgery.

And as his girlfriend Anna Heinrich took on the role of his carer as he recovered, the exercise fanatic took to Instagram on Saturday to reflect on how his injury has brought them closer together.

The 33-year-old chiropractor flexed his mended muscle in a snap he uploaded and wrote that being injured has made him: 'Fall in love with Anna even more! Best support/nurse'.

The hunky personal trainer had taken the selfie post-work out and proudly started the post by writing: 'Tonight I graduated to the pink 3kg dumbbells.'

He went on: 'Almost 3 weeks out of sling and 9 wks post surgery. Initially I had a moment of getting down about my injury but then I opened myself to enjoy the journey that it would bring.'

Throughout the time he was in a sling he struggled with everyday tasks like tying his shoes, had to take public transport and slow down in general.

Difficulty: Throughout the time he was in a sling he struggled with everyday tasks like tying his shoes, had to take public transport and slow down in general

Passionate about his fitness he had to find a different way to train and instead walked more and explained he even tried a 'one handed spin class'.

But it was his relationship with Anna that was strengthened the most throughout his time with his right arm tucked up in a sling.

Tim and Anna have been together since they met on the original season of The Bachelor in 2013, and she took on the role of nurse as he recovered from surgery.

Traing too hard: At the time of his injury he took to Instagram to post a collage of images from inside the hospital and explained he had torn his right biceps muscle off the bone

'The lengths I have to go to to get 12 weeks off work!'

Tim ripped his right biceps muscle off the bone and after surgery was put in a sling while he recovered.

The gushing tribute to Anna comes after speculation that there was trouble in paradise amid reports earlier this year that the pair were living separately.

Over the past twelve months, their relationship has been dogged by break-up rumours but the pair have continued on, insisting they are stronger than ever.
