He told at the time how he shed 33Ibs for Ron Howard's movie, and his incredibly restricted diet saw him exist on a meagre diet that consisted of barely more than one egg a day.
'We couldn't go away for a month and get skinny, we had to do it while we were shooting,' he told Men's Health.
'At one point, a day's rations were a boiled egg, a couple of crackers and a celery stick,' he revealed.
Strongman: Brian is a powerlifting champion from the states with arms that terrify
And in an Instagram post, he joked: 'Just tried a new diet/training program called "Lost At Sea." Wouldn't recommend it.'
Chris is now hard work and currently preparing to bulk up for the next Thor movie - the third in the franchise - which is released in 2017.
'To get back to looking like Thor is simple: I get in the gym and work out,' he said of reprising his role at the Marvel superhero, for the third film in the series.
Bulky: The actor is known for his sculpted frame in movies
'I enjoy it. It keeps me fit and healthy. I've got to eat more calories – certain types and all clean – and it can get boring eating chicken breast and rice and so on. But at least you're fed properly.'
He continued, of the role that made him a household name back in 2011: 'I love playing him. I'm a fan.
'I've been on the phone to the Marvel guys going, 'Where's my script?' I want it early so I can get it perfect.'
