The New York Knicks unveiled Jeff Hornacek as their new head coach on Friday, but his 22-year-old daughter has ended up stealing the show.

Hornacek, 53, joined the Knicks on a three-year deal worth $15 million with an option for a fourth year, as he filled the vacancy created by Derek Fisher's dismissal earlier this year.

But during a press conference on Friday at the team's training facility in Tarrytown, his beautiful daughter, Abby, stole his spotlight as she cheered him on alongside her mother and two brothers.

During the conference, she was seen wearing a Knicks-blue-hued dress and nude sandals.

This summer, Abby will be court side as she reports on the NBA's Summer League in Las Vegas, according to The New York Post.

She graduated from the University of Southern California this year where she majored in broadcast journalism and minored in sports media.

Among her accolades during her college years included being a Lambda Pi Eta National Honors Society member, as well as a member of Order of Omega, a national Greek honor society representing the top three per cent of the Greek community based on GPA and leadership.

The up-and-coming sportscaster has already produced features and segments with Fox Sports San Diego and Fox Sports Arizona, and previously served as an intern for Fox Sports.

A member of the Kappa Kappa Gamma's chapter at USC, she was also a runner up as Miss Desert Rose in Miss Arizona USA 2014.

On her Instagram, Abby has shared photos of her college life, at work while on camera, and together with her family including her mother Stacy, brothers Tyler and Ryan, and of course her dad.

Hornacek has been welcomed to the Knicks family after an ultimately unsuccessful spell in Phoenix.

He was fired by the Phoenix Suns in February as the team languished with a 14-35 record. In his previous two seasons he had finished 48-34 and 39-43.

The Knicks finished the season third from bottom of the Eastern Conference standings with a 32-50 record.

'Jeff has a tremendous basketball acumen and possesses strong leadership skills,' Knicks president Phil Jackson said.

'During his career as both a player and coach, he has demonstrated the ability to elevate the game.'

Former Phoenix Suns coach Hornacek was one of several candidates linked to the job, a group that included former Cleveland coach David Blatt and Golden State Warriors assistant Luke Walton.

'I am extremely excited and honored to be the next coach of such an historic franchise,' Hornacek said in a statement.

'I look forward to working with Phil -- a coach and teacher of the game I have admired for many years -- and collaborating with him and our staff to take this team to the level that Knicks fans expect.'
