GIRL ABOUT TOWN: Harry Hill's crazy portrait is a 'hole' new take on David Beckham as an 'icon of Britishness'

Only Harry Hill could have considered David Beckham’s honed physique and immediately thought of...crazy golf.

The comedian created this bizarre ‘portrait’ of the former England football captain – with his torso and limbs covered in the crazy golf holes and dressed only in his undies – for the prestigious Royal Academy of Arts.

Harry’s spokesman tried to make sense of the odd image, telling me: ‘David Beckham is an iconic symbol of Britishness, as is crazy golf.’

He added: ‘Harry’s style of art is like his style of comedy; irreverent, nothing too serious and drawing from the famous faces we all know and love, or love to hate.’

Painted in oil on plywood, the two-part portrait goes on display when the academy’s summer showcase opens on June 13.

It’s not clear whether Beckham has seen the piece, but should wife Victoria hate it, she can easily make the £5,000 asking price – and hide it in her Holland Park basement.

Even that will be an improvement on Hill’s last contribution to the RA exhibition: a portrait of artist Damien Hirst which remains on sale for a cut-price £2,000.

Things may always look just perfect for Gwyneth Paltrow – but not everything is going to plan in her carefully controlled life.

I hear the 43-year-old actress and her former husband Chris Martin have knocked $1million – £690,000 – off the asking price of their New York flat due to a lack of interest.

The apartment in trendy Tribeca was on for $14 million but buyers haven’t been tempted – even though Jay Z lives next door.

Bizarrely, given Gwyneth’s clean-living credentials, she’s throwing in a £1,000 deep-fat fryer.
