The feminine-inspired bottom of the Rosie Assoulin gown featured a ruffled, bib front and matching back.

The A-line dress was partially patterned with colourful jewels, which appeared to be delicately placed on the gown.

Karlie, who is set to present the award for Womenswear, Menswear and Accessory, wore a pair of standout, pink pumps, which were covered with Swarovski crystals.

Copy Karlie in a white polka dot dress

The CFDAs are a stylish affair with all the A-listers turning it up a notch in the style stakes.

And whilst the competition was incredibly fierce, we have to admit we had a few favourite looks, including that of Karlie Kloss who donned a directional white tiered cut out dress by Rosie Assoulin.

We love the cute polka dot print combined with the bustle style dipped hem skirt and ruffle detailing, and Karlie gets extra points from us for her choice of Cinderella-worthy embellished heels!

Karlie’s dress is custom, but a similar version appeared is Rosie Assoulin’s Fall 2016 collection which will be available later this year.

The Council of Fashion Designers of America awards is held at the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York.

The host is Joel McHale, formerly the host of The Soup on E!

On announcing the choice, Steven Kolb, chief executive of the CFDA, specifically identified Mr. McHale as 'someone who comes from outside the fashion industry' and noted that it would 'keep the night lively, topical and unexpected.'

The 44-year-old said himself that guests should be ready for him to poke fun at proceedings.

He told New York Times: 'If you don’t have a sense of humor about yourself, you’re not going to enjoy it. It’s a pretty short monologue, so it has to be packed. I’m not going to be like, "Now I will take this person out for the next two minutes."

'On the other hand, it would be very strange for me to do a lot of jokes complimenting my subject.'

While the show is not televised, guests will still enjoy a sit-down dinner.

Earlier in the day, the supermodel was spotted showing off her fashion credentials in a slinky jumpsuit as she arrived for rehearsals.

Karlie wore a halterneck-style black jumpsuit which featured large slits down each leg, showing off the model's toned pins.

The form-fitting number also highlighted Karlie's trim waist, and flashed a bit of skin with a sexy open back with criss cross straps.

The close friend of singer Taylor Swift coupled the stylish look with a pair of strappy, black ballet flats.

She wore her long, blonde tresses in a side part and styled straight, with a few wisps falling onto her face.

Karlie hid her eyes behind a pair of stylish, black sunglasses, and carried a statement, maroon handbag with a gold chain.

The New Face of Swarovski looked to be in good spirits on the New York City outing, showing off a big smile as she made her way to the CFDA for rehearsals.

And she was joined by a man in a plaid, button down, fitted, light wash jeans, and green and white Adidas sneakers as she arrived.

Later that night designers such as Marc Jacobs and Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen will arrive as the event kicks off, recognizing the outstanding contributions made to American fashion.

The CFDA awards celebrate individuals from all areas of the industry and related arts, with merits being given for design excellence in womenswear, menswear, and accessories as well as extraordinary accomplishments in journalism, creative vision, and lifetime achievement.
