'Look at the state of YOU!': Susanna Reid lays into Piers Morgan on Good Morning Britain as he tries to encourage tee-total Freddie Flintoff to get drunk with him

They've been friends for years, so it comes as no surprise that things turned a little playful between Piers Morgan and Freddie Flintoff on Good Morning Britain on Monday.

Talking about being tee-total for the past two years, Piers appeared keen to get Freddie to fall off the wagon as he said he wants to go drinking with him like the olden days.

But co-host Susanna Reid wasn't letting Piers get away with it and gave him a bit of a ticking off.

Freddie was on the show to promote his new series 'Freddie Fries Again' which starts at 8 pm on Sky 1 on Tuesday.

Piers asked him if he missed drinking, as he used to be fairly renowned for his wild ways.

Freddie said: 'As you get older, you wake up with a thick head,' he said. 'Now I'm healthier, I'm going training, I'm doing it the wrong way round really.'

Piers replied: 'You are one of my heros both on and off the pitch. God we had some nights. If you ever want to fall off the wagon, you know where to find me.'

Freddie famously had to be rescued from a pedalo in the Caribbean after one particularly raucous night out, but he says he feels much better after giving up booze two years ago.

'Look at the state of him.' Piers said. 'Fit, bronzed, tanned...'

Susanna chimed in: 'Look at the state of YOU!' to much laughter.

But Piers and Freddie weren't the naughtiest boys talked about on the show as it was revealed that Ben Shephard has also got himself into a spot of bother.

On Sunday night, both he and Sean Fletcher got their football shorts on to take to the pitch for this year's Soccer Aid match.

Joining many stars including Robbie Williams, Paddy McGuinness, Michael Sheen and Olly Murs, the pair were helping to raise £5 million for Unicef.

But all didn't go to plan for Ben, who ended up getting sent off after a rather dirty tackle! Piers has offered to take his place next year if he gets suspended.
