This year's series, which host Emma Willis describes as a 'new game, with new rules,' opened its doors to quirky twins Emma and Victoria Jensen, 30, and former The Valley's star Lateysha Grace. Second in, were identical siblings Emma and Victoria who hail from Essex and describe themselves as 'really enthusiastic and positive energy bringers' who 'love colour and nature and animals'.

Vladimir Putin's new Stary Oskol submarine (pictured left), which is laden with missiles and torpedos, ventured into the North Sea where it was intercepted by the anti-submarine Type 23 frigate HMS Kent (right) on Sunday. It is believed the submarine has been tracked by the HMS Kent since Sunday after it left its home port in Severmorsk, in Murmansk Oblast, Russia, and travelled down Britain's eastern coast. It is thought the submarine, which first set sail last year and is powered with a diesel-electric engine, is heading for the Black Sea to join the rest of Russia's fleet.

The schoolgirls (pictured attending an earlier court hearing) were originally charged with kidnap 'with the intention of committing a sexual offence' but this was 'discontinued' at a youth court today and the girls admitted an alternative charge of kidnap. It can now be reported that the two-year-old girl was the second child they had tried to grab from the Primark store in Newcastle that day, having tried unsuccessfully to trick another little girl's mother. The teenagers, aged 13 and 14, admitted leading the second toddler away from the store and taking her to a park three miles away. The pair were arrested an hour and 45 minutes after they led the confused little girl away from the store in busy Northumberland Street. They were deliberately targeting black children. It was also said at a previous hearing in April that a tablet computer was found containing searches for 'rape', 'people getting raped', 'young people getting raped' and 'poor little thing getting kidnapped and raped'. But a source said there was not enough evidence to proceed with the kidnap charge with a sexual element.

Animal behaviorist Linda Koebner (pictured) has received all the thanks she needed from the animals she hasn't seen for all those years - a 'welcome back' hug. Koebner, who founded the non-profit chimpanzee sanctuary Chimp Haven in Louisiana, spent four years teaching the chimps how to be wild in southern Florida after they were released from the hepatitis research lab where they lived (bottom right). She then returned to the enclosure and was greeted with open arms by the chimps, which was captured on camera and featured on the PBS documentary The Wisdom of the Wild. 'Do you remember me?' she asks, as a chimp named Swing reaches out a hand to Koebner from the dock, and cracks a huge smile (main).

Darlington Imoh, 60, (pictured top left) was one of three drivers rescued from a flash flood in south London (left). Large swathes of Britain had been enjoying balmy temperatures well into the mid-twenties until lunchtime, but the recent humidity sparked a surge of thunderstorms and lightning strikes by mid-afternoon. The Met Office was forced to issue a number of severe weather warnings as floodwater engulfed numerous streets across the south east of England, including in Surrey (pictured, top right) and London. Motorists were forced to flee their cars under bridges as torrential rain caused flash flooding countrywide. In Penicuik, flash flooding led to firefighters being called to homes to pump water out - and in Midlothian, Scotland, a tornado was even pictured (bottom right) as the wild weather battered Britain. Lightning strikes left two houses in flames (bottom centre) and three members of the same Northern Irish family fighting for their lives.

Barrister Jonathan Simpson, 48, and his wife Katherine Simpson, 49, of Winchester in Hampshire, allegedly sent letters to the father of the woman's child outlining her 'love' of explicit sexual acts. On once occasion Simpson turned up at the woman's child's school to drop leaflets, even though a restraining order had been made against him, Southwark Crown Court heard. At the time of the allegations the woman - who cannot be named for legal reasons - had a young child and was pregnant.

Axl Rose is demanding that an image he claims was released without his consent or approval be removed from the internet by Google. The image in question was taken of the Guns N' Roses frontman at a 2010 concert in Canada by Boris Minkevich and published in the Winnipeg Free Press . That photo was quickly stolen of the newspaper's website and used to male memes mocking Rose's weight. Rose has now hired Web Sheriff to get the photo taken offline.

Johnny Depp enjoyed a day out with his close friend Tim Burton (above) on Saturday as the two smiled and laughed together during a visit to Bran Castle in Transylvania, also known as Dracula's Castle. Burton sipped a beer as he talked to Depp, who had his hands free, while a blond woman behind the pair was seen carrying two bottles of beer. The 52-year-old actor is getting ready to return to the United States after almost two weeks abroad with his band Hollywood Vampires, and for the first time since his estranged wife Amber Heard accused him of domestic abuse (inset top). Heard has been attacked by many since she made those claims, with friends of Depp saying she is not telling the truth, but the 30-year-old got some support on social media Monday night from iO Tillett Wright (inset bottom), who is a friend of both the actress and Depp.

A rare duck-billed dinosaur skeleton has been sold for an impressive $170,000 after the contents of a closed-down natural history museum were auctioned off in a once-in-a-180 million year lifetime sale. Dating back 75 million years, this harpocrasaurus was first discovered in Montana in the US during the 1990s and has been on display at Emmen Zoo in Holland - which named it 'Freya'. The internationally-acclaimed history museum is moving to another location where there is no need for dinosaur exhibits and as a result, all of the artifacts were sold at Summers Place Auction in Billinghurts, West Sussex. Included in the auction was a fossilized saber-tooth cat, a four-legged skeleton of an Eophippus, a rare fossilized shark and more.

As NATO carried out its biggest exercise in Poland since the end of communism in 1989 - complete with a display of thousands of paratroopers (top right and left) - it emerged that Russian troops have been deployed to the Ukrainian border. Scores of U.S. troops and then military vehicles parachuted into a spacious, grassy training area on the outskirts of the central city of Torun.  The force's mission was to secure a bridge on the Vistula River (bottom right) as part of the Polish-led Anakonda-16 exercise that involves about 31,000 troops and runs through mid-June.

Astronauts on board the International Space Station have taken more than three million images, with those from the most recent expedition being among the best. Among the most recent is a picture showing the lights of Italy shining through clear skies (pictured), captured by British astronaut Tim Peake. Others captured as the space station made its 100,000th orbit include a dramatic picture of a thunderstorm over Arkansas, an oblique view of the snow-caped Himalayan mountain range. But not all the pictures they take are looking at Earth - recently space station commander Tim Kopra took a snap of his breakfast taco floating in the Unity module.

Michael Dunlop, 27, shattered records as he sped down country roads (left), dodging postboxes and hedges at the 2016 Isle of Man TT races. The northern Irish motorcycle racer, whose father and uncle both died while racing, did the Mountain Course lap in 16 minutes 58 seconds to win the RST Superbike race. Student Kaitlyn Juvik, from Helena, Montana, pictured right and left, staged a bra-less protest with fellow students after she was reprimanded for not wearing appropriate underwear to school under her black T-shirt, pictured left. In a Facebook post, pictured center, she said it was 'not see-through, not inappropriate' and claimed the complainant must have been 'looking very hard' to see she was not wearing a bra.

One sunbather took her tanning attempts to a whole new level by balancing precariously - while topless and wearing just pants - out of a third-floor window ledge in Merchant City, Glasgow. Wearing nothing but a small thong, the woman took to a high ledge and laid on her front in a desperate bid to make the most of the summer sun yesterday. Office workers were left bemused as the woman - seemingly unaware of her daring display - calmly sunbathed while dangling her legs over the edge. With the top half of her body leaning on a window frame, she positioned the remainder of her body on the ledge of the apartment block. And while the daring sunbathing attempt seemed rather impromptu, she hadn't failed to make herself comfortable - even using a blanket to lie on.
