'She's his mother, nurse and manager': Ozzy Osbourne's ex manager claims split from wife Sharon is a 'publicity stunt' and rocker would never cheat

So far, neither party has made the final move and filed for divorce.

In a move likely to infuriate Sharon and Ozzy Osbourne, a former manager for the Black Sabbath star has spoken out to insist the long term couple's break up is a publicity stunt.

Sharon and Ozzy's 33 marriage is said to be over after it was reported that the rocker cheated with a hairstylist, but Steven Machat has toldRadarOnline.com that he doesn't believe Ozzy, 67, would ever be capable of an affair.

Machat, who managed Ozzy in the early 1980s, claims the split and the publicity it has generated has been contrived to drum up attention for Black Sabbath's new tour which kicked off this month.

'Sharon is clever enough to make a story that the press would read, so all of a sudden he becomes relevant again,' Machat said.

Machat added that he doesn't believe Ozzy could or would cheat on Sharon, who is also her husband's manager, claiming of the rocker: 'He's not all there. I would doubt that he had an affair.'

He adds that Sharon, 63, would be equally reluctant to split as she makes money from her husband's career, while Ozzy relies on his wife for everything, as he insists: 'She was perfect for him – she was made to order. She's his mother and nurse and manager.'

The claims echo a similar report from PageSix.com last month, in which insiders claimed that Sharon's airing of her own marital woes is a straight off copycat of Beyonce's strategy with her hit Lemonade album, which generated massive buzz thanks to her lyrics about infidelity.

'Sharon is the queen of publicity stunts,' sources told the gossip website. 'She’s a very smart woman.... If it is a stunt, it has got him almost as much press as when he bit that bat’s head off.'

The news of his alleged affair and her appearance on her daytime show The Talk after the announcement, clutching a glass of lemonade, a perceived reference to Beyonce's album, came two days before a press conference to announce the lineup for this year's Ozzfest.

And despite their 'estrangement,' the couple arrived together in the same vehicle for the event at Hollywood's Palladium theatre where they announced the merging of Ozzfest with Knotfest in September.

Adding to the theory that the talk of adultery and divorce is about getting attention for Ozzy's tour is the decision by the couple's daughter Kelly to post a photo to her Instagram showing her holding a lemon.

'There’s always deliberate drama going on. it maintains interest in them as a family,' an entertainment industry source told PageSix.com.

'It would be very hard for Ozzy to carry on an affair under (Sharon's) nose without her knowing about it.'

Representatives of Ozzy and Sharon have been contacted by MailOnline for comment.

Ozzy has fought a public battle with drug and alcohol addiction throughout their marriage but has insisted that any reports suggesting he was using drugs again were 'completely inaccurate'.

Sharon and Ozzy, along with children Jack and Kelly, found renewed fame when they signed on the MTV reality show The Osbournes in 2002.
