'Her light is too bright': Sharon Stone reveals Muhammad Ali predicted her stardom when she was teen beauty queen

Sharon Stone revealed that Muhammad Ali saw her Hollywood potential when she was just a teenager.

'I met him when I was 17. I was in the Miss Pennsylvania pageant and he was in Hershey, Pennsylvania, when I was there and I met him,' Stone, 58, told ET on Saturday at the Hotbed Benefit Gala in Tiburon, California.

'And then he called my father and offered me a part in his film that he was making,' Stone said.

The late boxing champ predicted movie stardom while her father was skeptical.

'My father said, '''She is not going to be in film.'' He told my father, ''You may think that she is not, but she is. You cannot hide that girl under a bushel basket. Her light is too bright,'" Stone said.

The Basic Instinct star reunited years later with Ali at his charity event Celebrity Fight Night and said the three-time heavyweight champion showed a strong memory.

'I said to him, ''I met you when I was a teenage girl and you might not remember that,'" she said.

'I was helping him up the stairs because of his Parkinson's and he turned to me and he said, ''Yes, and you were wearing a blue dress,'" Stone recalled of the boxing champ who was diagnosed with the degenerative disorder in 1984.

The actress helped raise about $330,000 over the weekend hosting the Hotbed charity event.

Stone spearheaded the silent auction portion of the gala presented by the Drever Family Foundation that supports organizations providing resources and educational opportunities to poor children.

The gala featured a performance by Andrea Bocelli who left party-goers in awe during a private showcase while Stone leaned in to go a better listen.

Planet Hope co-founder and Sharon's sister, Kelly Stone, caught the performance alongside actor Gilles Marini and business mogul Maxwell Drever.

The sisters co-founded the nonprofit in 1993 to provide outreach and educational resources to homeless, abused and terminally ill children.

Planet Hope has provided wrapped toys for children at Los Angeles shelters for Christmas and provided sleeping bags for the homeless living on Los Angeles streets.

Stone can next be seen in the The Masterpiece co-produced, directed by and starring James Franco.

The film is based on the non-fiction book The Disaster Artist that tells the story of the 2003 cult film The Room and also stars Dave Franco, Seth Rogen, Josh Hutcherson, Hannibal Buress and Zac Efron.
