She is red carpet royalty, routinely turning heads with her discerning eye for style.    

And Ciara was certain to stand out once more at the CFDA Fashion Awards in New York on Monday, as she sported a rather unusual peasant style pink dress with an off-the-shoulder top.

The 30-year-old's funky frock flashed her leg as it featured a tiny mini skirt along with a longer maxi, which draped to the floor.

Ciara's off-the-shoulder top ruffled at the sleeves and had lace that criss-crossed and unbuttoned at her chest.   

She teamed the extremely eye-catching dress with a pair of strappy beige sandals, giving her a boost and flattering her perfectly toned legs.

The annual CFDA Fashion Awards has finally arrived and one trend we've noticed is cutouts.

We've seen a lot of dresses with cutouts and we mean A LOT. From Shanina Shaik all the way to Naomi Campbell.

It's quite refreshing to see singer Ciara take a different approach on the red carpet.

The bombshell rocked a bold layered pale pink ruffle dress along with strappy sandals.

At first glance, the dress might seem...too much, but the off shoulder look along with the thigh slit definitely makes us love this Roberto Cavalli gown.

She wore her highlighted locks down in loose ringlets, tucking in portions of her long and thick hair behind her ears.

The host is Joel McHale, formerly the host of The Soup on E! 

On announcing the choice, Steven Kolb, chief executive of the CFDA, specifically identified Mr. McHale as 'someone who comes from outside the fashion industry' and noted that it would 'keep the night lively, topical and unexpected.'

The 44-year-old said himself that guests should be ready for him to poke fun at proceedings.

He told New York Times: 'If you don’t have a sense of humor about yourself, you’re not going to enjoy it. It’s a pretty short monologue, so it has to be packed. I’m not going to be like, "Now I will take this person out for the next two minutes."

'On the other hand, it would be very strange for me to do a lot of jokes complimenting my subject.' 

While the show is not televised, guests will still enjoy a sit-down dinner.
