MARNI VERSUS DEBENHAMS

Nothing says summer like a colourful print, and whether it's zig-zag or Aztec, the shops are full of them this summer - with many designers emblazoning their dresses with bold geometric prints.

On the runway, celebrity-loved label Marni did just that with its shadow print sleeveless asymmetric dress, which costs an eye-watering £2,571.

Designer Consuelo Castiglioni designed this bold gown for the label and it's been blend woven with silk to keep the style light and airy.

On the other end of the spectrum is this £40 pink retro print dress from Principles Petite by Ben de Lisi at Debenhams.

Working a bold and vibrant hue, it was designed with a nod to the season's Sixties trend, while its roll neck promises to add a flattering feminine finish.

The store say it's a go-to office-to-evening piece that works well when team with a sleek black blazer and tonal accessories - and quite literally gives its high-end counterpart a run for its money.
