The View is looking ahead to next season following the news that Michelle Collins will not be returning as a host for the next season, and there are reports that the morning show is looking to replace her with someone inside the ABC family.
Variety reports that Sara Haines, who is currently a Good Morning America Weekend anchor and frequent guest host and correspondent on The View, is in talks to join the show at the end of the summer when the new season begins.
Haines, 38, has been at ABC since 2013 and prior to that worked at Today, leaving her job as a producer and contributing correspondent on the show's fourth hour with Kathie Lee Gifford and Hoda Kotb to join the rival network.
A source close to the show told DailyMail.com last month that Haines would be joining the show as one of the hosts next season alongside Sunny Hostin.

Sources inside ABC are said to like Haines for her 'ability to tackle both hard and soft news stories,' while the ladies of The View are also clearly fond, having thrown a baby shower for her earlier this year that filled up an entire hour of the program.
The episode featured appearances by her parents, her husband Max and her dog Trixie.
Haines also returned to the show during her maternity leave for their Mother's Day episode, two months after giving birth to son Alec in March.
'We’re lucky to have terrific and talented guest co-hosts fill in at the table and we include Sara Haines on that list,' said an ABC spokesperson when asked about Haines joining The View as a host.
'When we are ready to make to make an announcement about next season, we will.'
The potential hosting line-up was revealed to DailyMail.com by a source close to the show two weeks ago.
'The network loves Sara and so does Whoopi, who has been vocal about saying to executives that Sara should have always been hired over GMA's Paula Farris,' said the source.
'After more than a year of working with her, Whoopi still can't stand Paula and thinks she's the wrong fit for the show.'
The source added about Hoisin: 'Two years ago the network courted Sunny and she was supposed to be apart of season 18 with Whoopi, Rosie O'Donnell and Nicolle Wallace. Things fell apart during a last minute chemistry test between the ladies and the deal never happened. ABC knew they made a bad decision.'
Those two will be joined by current hosts Farris, Goldberg and Joy Behar, with Goldberg signing a deal to stay on for one more season worth $2.5million.

Candace Cameron-Bure and Raven-Symone are expected to announce their departures from the show between now and mid-July according to the source.
The source also revealed two weeks ago that Collins would be out, a decision ABC announced last Friday while the host was away on vacation in Europe.
Collins is expected to finish out the rest of the season through August 5, when the show goes on hiatus for the summer.
