Feeling better? Melissa McCarthy and Kristen Wiig join original Ghostbuster Dan Aykroyd on red carpet after he was hospitalised over the weekend

They were the inaugural cover stars of the magazine's first ever Women in Comedy issue. 

And on Tuesday, Melissa McCarthy Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon and Leslie Jones joined original Ghostbusters star Dan Aykroyd for an LA event held in their honour.

The lovely ladies dazzled in their chosen ensembles, with Melissa and Kristen opting for colour while Leslie and Kate chose black and white.

Melissa, 45, dazzled in a solid-coloured, bright pink dress complete with bell sleeves. 

The Gilmore Girls star paired her chic look with a set of watercolour print heels and a nude clutch. 

The pretty brunette left her hair down and styled in loose waves.

During her interview with the special edition of ELLE, Melissa admitted that she gets 'psychotically attached to all of my characters.'

'I know it’s such an actory thing, but I feel it to my core: I have to represent the woman I’m getting to be. Even if she’s fictitious, she’s always real to me: three-dimensional, flawed, loving, screwed-up, as real women are.'

Melissa's fellow comedians and Ghostbusters cast also came out for the night. 

Kristen, 42, commanded attention in a purple and blue print jumpsuit with applique detailing.

Leslie was fierce in a fitted, black skirt with tassel paneling. The 48-year-old star tucked a white top into her feminine bottom, before completing her look with a studded jacket.

The star, who played Dr. Raymond Stantz in the original film, joked around on the red carpet, appearing to let everyone know he was doing good. 

The actor's film, which he both co-wrote and guest-starred in, hits theaters in July.
