'I'm head over heels in love!' Smitten Vicky Pattison confesses she wants a romance with her best friend and new Big Brother housemate Alex Cannon

He's set to be the hunk of the Big Brother house as the 2016 series kicks off.

But any housemate hoping to get cosy with Alex Cannon should watch out for ex Geordie Shore star Vicky Pattison, as she confessed on Wednesday's episode of Loose Women that she's fallen 'head over heels' for her friend.

Vicky and model Alex have been best pals for over a year, and have worked together on her MTV show Judge Geordie, but the reality star has admitted her feelings for her handsome friend have changed.

Vicky, 28, told her Loose Women co-stars that she had 'a dilemma' during a typically candid chat on their Wednesday show.

'So, I have got a best friend who is a boy. We've been best friends a year and a half, practically inseparable. We worked together at first then it grew to something more. Now I think I'm totally head over heels in love with him,' she explained.

When asked if there had been any contact between them, Vicky admitted there has been 'a bit of necking on.'

It wasn't hard for Vicky's pals to figure out who she was talking about, as they confirmed it was her friend who entered the BB house the night before.

As the screens flashed up a smouldering shirtless pic of Alex, Coleen Nolan quipped: 'What's the dilemma?'

But as Vicky pointed out: There are plenty of lads in the world that I could ruin stuff with, that I could go out with for six months and they could cheat or do something wrong and we flat out never speak again.'

Cheeky Vicky confessed though 'I've lied about my age, he thinks I'm younger than I am so I can get with him sooner!'

Talk soon turned to another hunk Vicky has recently been linked with - ex TOWIE star Mario Falcone. But she admitted any chance of a romance with Mario 'fizzled out.' 

'We had a cocktail,' she said. 'He's gorgeous, lovely, a nice lad. But we were too busy to see each other. It fizzled out.'

Vicky was avidly watching the Big Brother launch night on Tuesday, excitedly tweeting her followers as soon as Alex entered the house. 

'Here he is.... The winner of BB.... My best friend, ultimate stud and one of the kindest and most incredible lad I know!' she told her fans, before adding a cosy photo of the two on Instagram, alongside the caption:

'Love': Vicky posted a cosy photo of the friends on her Instagram page on Tuesday night alongside plenty of compliments for the hunk

But speaking to OK! magazine, the 28-year-old said at the time that the kiss only happened because they were 'drunk' and there's nothing more to it.

She told the publication: 'I think the world of Alex but we genuinely are just best friends.'

She added: ‘I think it happened because we’d really missed each other. We got carried away! We chose a very public location to have a snog, didn’t we? That was stupid.’

Alex, who regularly shows off his six-pack to his 196,000 Instagram followers, had a more straightforward explanation.

‘We were blind drunk, I didn’t notice anyone taking pictures of us,’ he said.

The former Geordie Shore star also suggested that she plays the role of older sister and mother to Alex - particularly in matters of the heart.

‘Alex says he’ll never introduce his girlfriends to me because he knows I’ll hate them all. I’ll never think any girl is good enough for Alex.’ 

Her dream man! With his good looks, Alex is sure to be a hit in the BB house
