Bobby Brown broke down in tears as he revealed that his daughter Bobbi Kristina Brown was discovered lifeless in a bathtub just two days before she was set to move to Los Angeles to be closer to him.

After her mother Whitney Houston died in 2012, Bobbi Kristina grew distant from her father and other family members, he said in an interview with Robin Roberts on ABC's 20/20 that aired on Tuesday night.

But Brown said that his daughter had reached out to him in 2014 and the pair had an emotional reunion on Father's Day that year.

'That was a special day,' Brown told Roberts as he fought back tears, adding that things were going so well with his daughter that she decided to move to Los Angeles where he lived.

But on January 31 last year, Bobbi, then 21, was discovered face down in her Georgia townhouse and died six months later.

'If I could get those two days back, my daughter would be here,' he said. 'All I want is those two days back.'

He added: 'I hate to say it but two days. If I had those two days back, I'd have went and got her instead of waiting for her to come to me, I'd have went and got her if I knew. She was to come out here to Los Angeles with me.'

Brown also addressed allegations of domestic violence against Houston, admitting that he did hit her once while on drugs – but insisted he is not a woman beater.

He said the couple often indulged in hard drugs together while their daughter was cared for in a separate part of the house by nannies.

‘I always made it a point to not let her see me or my wife in that type of situation,’ he said. It’s hard when you are doing it every day.’

Now, he claims he is free of narcotics – and hasn’t done drugs for more than a decade. But he admits, he still drinks because ‘f*** it, everyone drinks.’

Brown said his relationship with Houston started after she began flirting with him at the Soul Train Music Awards in 1989.

‘She was bumping into me at Soul Train,’ he said. ‘I was like, ‘You keep bumping into me.’ And I kept doing that. And I did it like two or three times, and she kept bumping me.’

He added: ‘I asked her why, and she was like, ‘Because I want to.’ And that attitude, that whole thing right there - that’s the way it started.’

He also shot down accusations that he was with Houston for her money, revealing her father had asked him to show him his bank balance to prove he had money.

Brown, who found fame and success from a young age with R&B group New Edition, said he actually had more money than Houston at the time of their nuptials.

‘I have been rich since I was 17,’ he said.

'I came into the marriage with money, and I left the marriage with nothing,' he added.

Brown also revealed that he stormed out of Houston’s funeral because he felt his family were being disrespected by security there. He claimed he was threatened with arrest if he spoke with his daughter there.

He wiped away tears as he revealed the agony of spending six months watching Bobbi Kristina lay helpless and lifeless in a coma.

She had immediately placed on life support after being found unresponsive in January and stayed in a medically induced coma until she died at the age of 22 in July last year.

'The hardest thing I had to do in my life was to tell my daughter to let go,' Bobby told Roberts.

He then became unable to control himself, saying as tears streamed down his face: 'My baby's gone.'

'I don't wish that on my worst enemy. That is the worst pain in the world.'

Roberts also asked Brown about why he said his daughter was awake during a concert in April last year.

His wife and manager, Alicia Etheredge-Brown, and his attorney later clarified the statement to say Bobbi Kristina had been moved to a rehabilitation center and her level of awareness at that time was unknown.

But during his interview with Roberts, Brown stood by what he said.

'She was definitely following me when I walked around the room, when I talked to her, when her siblings talk to her,' Brown told Roberts. 'She was definitely following us.'

'It was reassuring,' he continued. 'For me, at that time, it reassured me that she knew and she was in a hospital and something had happened. She wasn't able to tell me what happened, but she definitely was awake and aware.'

Bobbi Kristina was found in her bathtub almost three years to the day that her mother was pronounced dead after being discovered in eerily similar circumstances while staying at the Beverly Hilton for the 2012 Grammy Awards.

Houston was pronounced dead on the scene after being discovered in the bathtub of her suite at the hotel, with accidental drowning, heart disease and cocaine use later cited as the causes of death.

The Fulton County Medical Examiner's report for Bobbi Kristina revealed that her death was caused by 'immersion of face in water complicating mixed drug intoxication.'

Brown told Roberts that he blames family friend Nick Gordon for the deaths of his ex-wife and his daughter, although he refused to say his name.

'It's not a mystery to me,' Brown said. 'I know exactly what happened to my daughter.'

'The same thing that happened to my daughter is what happened to Whitney. There's only one person that was around both occasions, only one person who says they were there to protect them and he didn't.'

It was Gordon who found Bobbi Kristina passed out in the bathtub and in the months that followed some accused him of playing a role in her death.

Her death, on July 26, 2015, was ruled to be from lobar pneumonia and lack of oxygen, resulting in brain damage.

But in an autopsy report, the medical examiner said it could not be determined for sure exactly how she died and if it was an accident or possible murder.

Gordon's lawyers have called on Fulton County District Attorney Paul Howard to publicly declare that Bobbi Kristina's death was not a murder, but so far he has refused to make this statement.

It was also Gordon who tried to resuscitate Houston after she was found unresponsive in her bath-tub just hours before she was due to attend Clive Davis' annual Grammy party.

Brown has joined a wrongful death suit against Gordon in his daughter's death. Meanwhile, Gordon denies having anything to do with the deaths and his attorneys have called the suit 'meritless'.

'He hurt his own daughter, not me,' Gordon told Dr Phil in a recent interview.

'I was the one there for her while she was going through everything, dealing with him not being there and he tries to put the blame on somebody else. It's just ridiculous.'

The Brown family believe Bobbi Kristina being manipulated by Gordon, who was rumored to be Houston's adopted son.

Bobbi Kristina was just 14 at the time of her parents’ divorce in 2007, and five years later, she became the sole beneficiary of her mother's multi-million fortune.

Eight months after her mother's passing, Bobbi Kristina announced she was engaged to Gordon, who was raised at times during his childhood by Whitney and who many considered to be a brother-like figure to Bobbi Kristina.

The pair later claimed they had been married in early 2014, but no documents have been found to prove that they actually wed.

In the interview, Brown also opened up about his marriage to Houston - and how the first time he saw her do hard drugs was on their wedding day in 1992.

He had broken tradition by seeing his bride before the ceremony, and walked in to see his bride and found her hunched over a bureau snorting a line of cocaine.

'That was the first time I had actually saw her do drugs,' Bobby told Roberts.

Roberts also showed Bobby a photo from his wedding of him and his wife dancing and asked Bobby what he saw when he looked at the smiling couple.

'Happiness. I think we're both happy,' said Bobby.

'I was deeply in love with her and, you know, for the rest of my life I think I will have that feeling towards her because she was that one person who knew me. That one person who had no judgment.'

'She did drugs but drugs didn't do her. She knew how to handle herself,' he said of his ex-wife's drug use

When asked what he thought about Whitney doing drugs on their wedding day, Brown said he did not have much concern for his future wife.

'She wasn't that. The drugs wasn't her,' he said. 'She did drugs but drugs didn't do her. She knew how to handle herself. It only made me want to love and protect her more.'

Bobby was also asked by Roberts what it was like to have many people believe for years, and even know, that it was him who introduced Whitney to the drugs that ultimately claim her life.

'It wasn't me that started her,' he insisted.

'I take my part and I take it hard for me even being a part of it. But we all have our own minds and some of us are stronger than others.'

Brown also bizarrely claimed that he once had sex with a ghost about buying a 'spooky' mansion in Georgia, insisting that he was not high at the time.

'I bought this mansion in Georgia. This was a really, really spooky place,' Brown told Roberts.

'One time, I woke up and, yeah, a ghost... I was being mounted by a ghost. I wasn't high. I was not trippin'.'
