'Not a scratch on this pretty boy': Bieber puts on a brave face after making the big mistake of hitting massive man who b***h-slapped him and left him on the ground outside his hotel after NBA Finals game 

Just when you think Justin Bieber may finally be growing up he goes and does something stupid. In this case very stupid.

Breaking the first rule of survival, the hot-headed pop singer got into a shoving match with a man twice his size before deciding to really push the envelope and throw a punch.

Now despite Bieber's recent efforts to bulk up and grow a mustache, the 5'9' starlet proved no match for his hulking adversary who (after recovering from the shock) bundled him to the ground with ease.

The video - which looked to have been originally taken on Snapchat, and captioned: 'Justin Beiber getting his a** kicked!!' - was shot shortly after 11pm, outside of Justin's downtown Cleveland hotel on Wednesday night.

In it, the star - with his newly dyed platinum hair - can be seen standing in a small, tense crowd, while facing off against the unidentified man. 

The two can be seen shoving each other before Bieber's opponent moves to slap the singer with his right hand.

A furious Bieber retalliates with a flurry of punches, all of which appear to do very little damage as the man grabs him and uses his weight to send Bieber to the pavement before falling on top of him.

On Thursday, Lamont Richmond from Cleveland posted a video on his Facebook page claiming to be the guy in the fight.

Wearing a  hoodie, he spoke to camera, saying he'd just been trying to get an autograph for hs daughters wen the singer started the brawl.

He's since deleted the clip after it was posted on TMZ.

Off to a rough start: The trouble began as Justin could be seen in a tense confrontation, while surrounded by a small group of people outside of his hotel, before the larger man took a swing at him

Another video also surfaced where Justin looked ready to fight some more as some people try to pull him away from the large man. In the short clip shared byTMZ, Bieber throws a kick.

Witnesses said that Justin was getting bombarded with requests for photographs, which could have been a catalyst, as the star recently posted that he would no longer be posing for pictures with fans.

He took to Instagram about a month ago, writing: 'If you happen to see me out somewhere know that I'm not gonna take a picture I'm done taking pictures.' 

Trouble's coming: One guess at the cause of the fight was that trash talk simply got out control as Justin was wearing a Cavaliers shirt following the NBA Finals game

Fighting back: After the initial blow, Justin reciprocated, after which things turned into a full-on brawl which sprawled out onto the pavement 

Wild night: Justin threw a right back at his opponent, after which others got involved and the pair of them ended up tumbling onto the ground, still swinging

Quite the scuffle: Justin was spotted throwing punches outside of his downtown Cleveland hotel as he went up against a much bigger man in a video from just after 11pm, which looked to have been taken on Snapchat

Not quite what he was going for: The fight comes following the pop star's attempts at repairing his bad boy image, and during his massive Purpose Tour, for which he will next travel to Winnipeg, Canada

'It has gotten to the point that people won't even say hi to me or recognize me as a human, I feel like a zoo animal, and I wanna be able to keep my sanity. I realize people will be disappointed but I don't owe anybody a picture.'

He continued: 'And people who say "but I bought your album" know that you got my album and you got what you paid for AN ALBUM! It doesn't say in fine print whenever you see me you also get a photo.'

Justin recently teased the controversy by releasing a 'Justmoji' featuring a cartoon image of him holding up a sign that read: 'No photos.'

In an effort to salvage some pride from his bruising encounter on Wednesday night, Bieber posted an Instagram picture the following day with the caption: 'Not a scratch on this pretty boy'.

While at the game at the Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland the star wore a grey hoodie and a camo jacket as he posed with a Cavaliers dog mascot for the NBA Instagram account.

The Purpose singer appeared to be in good spirits as he smiled for the snap. 

The Grammy favorite was also seen posing with friend, two-time Formula One Champion Lewis Hamilton, who he had hung out with last month in Monte Carlo. Also in the image was Borussia Dortmund’s Matthias Ginter.

This is not the first time Justin has been in a physical fight in public.

The star famously ducked a blow from Orlando Bloom while in Ibiza in 2014. Bieber had reportedly gotten close to the actor's wife Miranda Kerr and that is why the two were at blows. It was also claimed that Bloom had a romance with Justin's ex Selena Gomez.

Justin is in the middle of his massive Purpose Tour and will next continue on to perform at the MTS Centre in Winnipeg, Canada on June 11. 

No photos: The cause of the fight was unknown, though witnesses said the star was being bombarded with photo requests, after saying he would no longer take pictures with fans - he recently posted this Justmoji, playing on the controversy surrounding his announcement

But he does have a soft side: The crooner held a baby while out for lunch earlier this week
