Cristiano Ronaldo takes centre stage once more as Portugal stars pose for pre-Euro 2016 photo with President Rebelo in Lisbon

Cristiano Ronaldo is used to throwing a pose or two given his various modelling campaigns down the years, and the Portugal star took centre stage once again on Tuesday.

With Euro 2016 fast approaching, Portugal's 23-man squad were given a final send-off in Lisbon, meeting the country's President and posing for a squad photo in Belem.

And it appears Ronaldo could not help but give the professional pose - while his team-mates smiled for the camera, he folded his arms and looked sternly at the photographer.

Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, President of Portugal since March, stood with the players for various photos in the capital.

Portugal begin their Group F campaign against Iceland next Tuesday, before matches against Austria and Hungary.

Ronaldo and Co are favourites to top their group, and will look to improve on their previous tournament capitulation when they failed to make it out of their group at the World Cup in 2014.

At Euro 2012 though, Portugal were impressive and got as far as the semi-finals, where they lost to rivals and eventual champions Spain.

In the build-up to this summer's tournament in France, there has been much talk of increased security following the November terror attacks in Paris which left 130 dead.

Portugal coach Fernando Santos accepts his side could be a target at Euro 2016 due to Ronaldo's presence.

PORTUGAL'S FINAL SQUAD FOR EURO 2016

(final 23-man squad)

Goalkeepers: Rui Patricio (Sporting Lisbon), Anthony Lopes (Lyon), Eduardo (Dinamo Zagreb).

Defenders: Vieirinha (Wolfsburg), Cedric Soares (Southampton), Pepe (Real Madrid), Ricardo Carvalho (Monaco), Bruno Alves (Fenerbahce), Jose Fonte (Southampton), Eliseu (Benfica), Raphael Guerreiro (Lorient).

Midfielders: William Carvalho (Sporting Lisbon), Danilo Pereira (Porto), Joao Moutinho (Monaco), Renato Sanches (Benfica), Adrien Silva (Sporting Lisbon), Andre Gomes (Valencia), Joao Mario (Sporting Lisbon).

Ronaldo was absent for last week's 1-0 defeat by England at Wembley but will be one of the star attractions in France.

And with that elevated profile comes a greater security risk, particularly in a country still on high alert.

'As everybody knows, Portugal is considered one of the high-risk teams due to the presence of Cristiano Ronaldo,' Santos said.

'But we are prepared for this. In reality, this will be the responsibility of the French security.

'Our fans will have to understand that at certain moments we won't be able to release our players as we would like.'

Portugal are based at the national rugby centre in Linas Marcoussis and play their group games in St Etienne, Paris and Lyon.
