As the beginning of Euro 2016 was marred by violence in Marseille, Northern Ireland and Poland fans found themselves attacked by local hooligans in Nice.
Police said that six Northern Ireland supporters were injured during violent clashes, with the force also confirming that the trouble was started by locals.
One fan of Northern Ireland was arrested by the police, while a small number retaliated during the attacks.

Six Northern Ireland supporters were injured during the violent clashes, according to police
Fans of both countries had been peacefully enjoying the atmosphere in the city, singing together and taking photographs ahead of their match on Sunday at 5pm.
Alex Sloan, in the city to support Northern Ireland, suggested that French security had been inadequate.
He tweeted: 'Terrible scenes in Nice. French security allow Nice ultras to walk into crowd & initiate riot.'
After order was restored, fans of both sides once again gathered to sing together, with viral hit 'Will Grigg's on Fire' the song of choice.
Some Northern Ireland fans retaliated according to the local police, with one supporter arrested
Poland and Northern Ireland supporters had been enjoying the atmosphere peacefully earlier in the day
The trouble followed violent clashes in Marseille earlier on Saturday ahead of and following the game between Russia and England.
Russian hooligans charged the England section of the Stade Velodrome following the final whistle, with supporters of Roy Hodgson's team having to climb over fences to escape the melee.
Northern Ireland take on Poland on Sunday before facing Ukraine on June 16 and Germany on June 21.
