Holly Willoughby can't keep a straight face as she challenges Phillip Schofield to an innuendo-heavy bush-trimming contest

Not even a simple gardening task is too mundane for giggly Holly Willoughby.

This Morning presenter Holly managed to find the hilarity in unleashing her green-fingered side on Tuesday, as she challenged co-host Phillip Schofield to a bush-trimming competition.

The giddy twosome quickly discovered the various innuendos and the segment dissolved into giggles, once again.

Holly couldn't seem to keep a straight face when Philip let viewers know that the show was on the hunt for 'Britain’s Best Bush'.

Though the feature may have been better suited to a fair-weather day, a few intermittent showers weren't going to keep Holly and Phil from the great outdoors.

Holly, dressed in a summery yellow skirt, found herself cowering under an umbrella as the gardening feature resumed underneath a gazebo on London's South Bank.

She paired the fitted lace skirt with a sleeveless blouse and sensibly slipped on a pair of green gloves before picking up the hedge-trimmer.

The words 'How to prune your bush' also accompanied the segment at the bottom of the screen, which encouraged #BritainsBestBush to trend on Twitter in the UK at lunchtime.

Though she wasn't dressed for a gardening challenge, Holly walked away with the win on Tuesday and triumphed over Philip.

The last time the presenting duo broke down over gardening puns was in May during a demonstration of lawnmowers when Phil asked about Holly’s gardening techniques.

'Have you got an unruly bush?' he asked her, to which she replied: 'No, mine are nice and smart. I like mine nicely shaped.'

Holly and Philip have never been far from their daily dose of giggles on the show, since the mum-of-three returned as his right-hand woman from maternity leave in September 2015.

Though unfortunately for Philip, she revealed this weekend that she is broody for a fourth child with Dan Baldwin, 40, with whom she already has Harry, seven; daughter Belle, five; and toddler Chester.

'I love being pregnant and I love having babies,' she told The Sun. 'I don’t want that area of my life to be over because it makes me sad to think I’d not be doing it again.'

'I have never felt more alive than after I had given birth, and I don’t know what else compares to that,' she confessed.
