Cor blimey! James Corden gives viewers to an eyeful as he sheds shirt for half-naked Carpool Karaoke with Red Hot Chili Peppers

Since landing his plum role as host of The Late Late Show, James Corden has become a strong fan favourite, thanks in large part to his introduction of Carpool Karaoke.

And the British TV personality took things to new heights in his latest clip, when he and the members of Red Hot Chili Peppers opted to shed their shirts for an in-car vocal session.

After singing a few of the band's hits, James said told the rockers: 'I almost didn't recognise you when you came up because you had your clothes on. You are fans, as a band, of the old tops off.'

Frontman Anthony Kiedis responded of often being seen without his clothes: 'It seems normal. It seems natural,' adding that he felt 'a bit encumbered' in his T-shirt.

As Anthony, who was seated in the front passenger seat, removed his top, James removed his grey polo top as he declared: 'I'll go toe-toe with you on this - not naked, but I'll take my top off.'

With Flea joining the pair - while bandmates Chad Smith and Josh Klinghoffer opted out of the flesh-bearing action - the semi-nude men belted out The Zephyr Song in unison.

Ahead of throwing their shirts back on, James noted: 'As soon as I took my top off it just made me feel great.

'This is the weird thing about having your top off: If I'm in the car on my own with a top off I look weird. Somehow, the fact that the three of us have got our tops off it feels completely normal!'

However, things didn't just stay at singing nearly nude, as earlier the clip - following Flea's revelation that he'd never had a fight, James decided to pull the car over and challenge Anthony to a wrestle.

'I love a good man wrestle - a grapple,' said bubbly James. 'No punches, but like a hold-down... I'll wrestle you anytime you want and I'll destroy you!'

However, the host was soon eating his words as he rolled around on a stranger's immaculate lawn with rocker Anthony soon pinning him down. 

Laughed hysterically, James bellowed: 'I submit - you destroyed me!... I didn't see that coming, Keidis.... It's difficult to wrestle when you're laughing that much.'
