Trunk sale! Nick Jonas takes to the streets of NYC in his vintage red Chrysler convertible to peddle his latest album

In an era of digital downloads, it seems at least one artist is going back to basics.

Or at least that's how it looked as Nick Jonas set up shop in Union Square on Wednesday in New York City.

The 23-year-old musician popped the trunk of his gigantic, red vintage Chrysler 300 convertible to reveal boxes of CDs stamped with his new album Last Year Was Complicated.

The pop star was almost instantly surrounded by fans as he posed with several copies of the new release.

Apparently his outfit was influenced by his vehicle, as he donned a crimson red jacket and matching red pants for his outing.

A black T-shirt, black sneakers and some slick aviator style sunglasses rounded out his casual cool look.

After setting up a sign which read 'Nick Jonas, Last Year Was Complicated, $15,' the Jealous hitmaker took the time to take several snaps with his adoring fans.

Photo op complete, he then took his sign and jumped in the back of the car, where he continued hocking his wares as his driver made his way through the Manhattan traffic.

Later, the former Disney star stopped in for a visit to The Late Show With Stephen Colbert.

There he teamed up with fellow pop star Demi Lovato, who recently broke up with long time boyfriend Wilmer Valderrama, for a duet performance.

The talented duo are about to embark on their Future Now tour together and are clearly happy at the prospect of going out on the road again together.

Meanwhile, Nick recently opened up about his friend Demi's split with Wilmer.

He admitted he wants to support both of them and even said the timing of their break-up made sense.

'I've built an amazing friendship with Wilmer over the years and I have so much love for him. Demi is one of my closest friends in the world so I'm here for her, and for both of them really,' he told Entertainment Tonight.

Nick continued: 'It's probably the best timing for everybody.'
