Confident! Demi Lovato highlights her curves in leather peplum jacket and skinny jeans as she rocks out at GMA Summer Concert

Demi Lovato went for a rocker look for her appearance on Good Morning America.

The singer wore a leather jacket in a flared peplum style as she performed onstage for the morning show's Summer Concert Series in New York City on Friday.

The 23-year-old belted out her hits Cool For The Summer and Confident.

Despite splitting from her boyfriend of six years Wilmer Valderrama last week, Demi looked upbeat and appeared to be having a blast on stage.

The former Disney star added skinny black jeans and strappy black heels.

She wore her bob styled in a wavy look and added bright red lipstick with matching nail polish.

And the singer surprised the crowd by introducing country star Brad Paisley, 43, as a special guest performer.

Demi and actor Wilmer, 36, announced on Instagram that they had called off their relationship of six years last Friday.

'This was an incredibly difficult decision but we realized we are better as best friends,' they said in their statement.

While their age difference raised eyebrows when they began dating when Demi was 18, the pop star credited Wilmer for supporting her through her multiple trips to rehab and treatment for her bipolar and eating disorders and former drug addiction.

On Friday, it was announced that Wilmer has joined the cast of hit CBS show NCIS, after the departure of longtime castmember Michael Wetherley.

The former That 70s Show star will play a field agent who went deep undercover but is now back on the job and a 'charismatic loose canon.'

Meanwhile, Demi is gearing up for the launch of her FutureNow tour later this month with fellow former Disney kid Nick Jonas.

The singer also took to Instagram this week to defend Ariana Grande and criticise the way Mariah Carey treats other performers..

Responding to a meme joking that Ariana was a low-rent verison Mariah, Demi wrote 'you got it wrong way around people.'

After ruffling a few feathers with Mariah's loyal fanbase, Demi went on to clarify her bold response stating: 'Mariah is a legend and is so talented but constantly disses people.

'It’s nasty the way she treats Jennifer. Ari did nothing wrong.'

Demi appeared to be referring to Mariah's reply of 'I don't know her' when asked her thoughts on J.Lo in an old interview.
