She's been working hard to build up strength after landing roles in two action films.

And Ruby Rose appears to be keeping up her fitness regime, showing off her rock hard abs after an intense sit-up session.

Showing off her ripped physique in a post to Instagram on Friday, the 30-year-old model turned actress posed in a white crop top teamed with baggie black trousers which were cropped at the ankles.

She completed her fitness chic look with tie-up black boots, while styling her raven tresses in a messy but stylish do.

'Life is better after 300 sit-ups,' a make-up free Ruby wrote alongside the snap of herself posing in front of the mirror and showing off her colourful body art and the outline of a six pack.

The post comes days after the former MTV VJ's skills were called into question by California DJ Josh Billings in a Facebook video posted on Wednesday which suggests part of her set is pre-recorded or pre-mixed.

Josh shared a clip of Ruby performing at a Tryst Nightclub in Las Vegas over Labor Day weekend last year and wrote: 'Unless she's dropping The Weeknd a capella separately from this beat, she's not mixing anything right now. So I'm not even really why she threw that fader up.

'If you see like in a few seconds here I think she just turns the fader up for no reason. It's very weird.'

He added: 'Anyway she's fantastic at lip syncing, dance moves are top notch. Super impressed by all those. But as far as DJing, not very impressed.'

Later in the video, Josh observes: 'You can see her looking at CDJ right now to try and find the next track to play and everything.'

Meanwhile, Ruby responded civilly to Josh's criticism on Twitter, saying: 'I play a lot of bootlegs and a lot of mashups. Come next time and I'll show you.'

She also explained there were some technical difficulties during the 2015 performance.

Despite her DJing skills being called into questioned, Ruby's career in the spotlight continues to go from strength to strength.

The model and TV personality joined the cast of Orange Is The New Black to play sassy Litchfield inmate Stella Carlin in season three.

After garnering a legion of fans from the American comedy-drama, Ruby has managed to secure various modelling gigs and roles in new movies.

She has recently been busy filming John Wick: Chapter Two and xXx: The Return of Xander Cage and she just wrapped up filming for Resident Evil: The Final Chapter.
