A woman got the ultimate revenge on her football obsessed boyfriend by turning the television on and off during a tense Euro 2016 match using a phone app - with disastrous results.

Seda Kamber, a Turkish research assistant, installed a hidden camera in her living room in Istanbul to capture her partner Izzet Salti's fury as the screen flicked off at crucial moments.

But when the game cut out just before Turkey looked set to score against Croatia, the sports lover threw an epic tantrum and flung a laptop at the screen, before kicking it and smashing it to smithereens.

The amusing clip starts with Seda sitting on the sofa and teasing Izzet just as the rival team have scored.

She asks in Turkish: 'Izzet, why are you getting so angry?' to which he responds, 'For God's sake, please be quiet for five minutes'.

She goads him further by teasing: 'Did we win?'

He replies sarcastically: 'Yeah sure, we won! They just scored a goal against us, but we're the winners.'

He continues ranting: 'I told you, don't watch the match with me. I'm already upset and when you ask me these stupid questions I go mad.'

He throws popcorn at her as she tells him to calm down.

The video then skips to Ms Kamber as she describes how she will get her boyfriend back for banning her from watching the game.

Speaking to the bathroom mirror, she reveals that she will put a hidden camera in the living room and turn the football match on and off using an app.

As a final remark, she says mischievously: 'We'll see which one of us doesn't get to watch the match.'

The clip then skips to the hidden camera, which shows Izzet watching the game from his sofa.

As the television suddenly cuts out he yells 'F*** Why are you turning off?' and searches for the remote, before jabbing at a button on the television.

As a player prepares to take a corner at 1-1, Izzet shoots out of his seat in urgency - as the screen goes black again.

He flails out of his seat, shouting: 'Seda! This television's broken, it keeps turning on and off!'

The screen cuts out several times after that, as he gets increasingly more agitated, throwing the remote control on the floor and scattering cushions while swearing furiously.

The football fanatic heads over to the laptop to inspect the damage done to it
He then grabs it from each end and snaps it brutally in half

Inspecting the damage on his laptop, he spits on it before snapping it in half, before sitting on the sofa and covering his face

He even tries to change the batteries of the remote, before flinging it on the floor.

At the most tense point of the match, as his team appears to be heading to score a goal, the screen cuts out again and he throws a full-on tantrum.

He throws his laptop at the widescreen, kicks the television and flips it on the floor.

The angered football fan then spits on the broken device and walks over it, smashing the screen even further.

He investigates the damage to his laptop, then breaks that in half too and throws it on the floor, before sitting back on the sofa and covering his face.

As his horrified girlfriend enters the scene of destruction, he says mirthlessly 'Look, we won', gesturing at the broken television.

A friend of the prankster shared it on Facebook on Tuesday, writing alongside the video: 'Man, joke of the year from Seda! Even we couldn't have predicted it would turn out like this, watch it till the end!'

The clip has since had 2million views and been shared over 35,000 times.
