Balancing act! Twilight's Ashley Greene hits the gym in spandex before juggling a bevy of grocery bags

Everyone knows balancing work and play can be difficult.

But Ashley Greene made it all look quite easy on Friday, as she stepped out for a gym run before hauling a bunch of grocery bags on a shopping trip.

The 29-year-old Twilight actress started the day in her workout ensemble.

She layered a black tank top sporting the slogan 'strong is the new skinny' over a dark teal sports bra.

On the bottom, the fit fashionista donned a pair of cropped black leggings which showcased her enviably toned gams, and a pair of black and white Nike trainers.

The natural beauty appeared mostly make-up free, and she scraped her brunette locks back into a high ponytail.

A black leather shoulder bag with a gold chain strap added a bit of bling to the pragmatic outfit.

Later, Ashley changed up her look a bit for a shopping trip to local upmarket grocery store Bristol Farms.

She traded in her black Nikes for a pair New Balance trainers decorated with neon accents.

A charcoal grey zip-up hoodie and a thin pink headband rounded out the changes.

Perhaps most impressively, she decided to forgo a cart and instead opted to carry three very full and no doubt heavy bags to her car all at once.

It's no surprise she opted for the physically challenging hauling method, as the Urge star is known for her attention to fitness.

In a recent interview with Self, Ashley revealed her three workout tips.

'Get lots of water. Get lots of protein. Always stretch it out,' said the actress.

Ashley also let the magazine in on an extra tip; 'train with intensity.'

'My favorite type of workout for a fun, fast-paced, full-body cardio fix would probably be Rise Nation,' she began.

'I love a great hike because it clears my head and I can take along the pups. And for an intense strength workout, I love training with Jason Walsh at Rise Movement,' she noted.
