Twins Oliver and Aria Orr (left earlier this year), 3, were discovered by neighbors inside the vehicle (bottom right), which was parked outside their home in Bossier City, Louisiana. The mother of the children was inside the house at the time, and had been calling people who lived in the area to ask if they had seen the little boy and his sister. Their tragic deaths come just three weeks after young Oliver was released from the hospital after suffering a near-fatal injury. Police are now investigating the incident, and the cause of death has not yet been released pending an autopsy. The father of the children, Travis Orr, (top right) is a deputy at the Bossier Sheriff Office. He has another child as well, son Maddox.

NEW Katie Holmes filmed one of the biggest events in the former First Lady's life - the day she officially became Jackie O (above, inset right Jackie at 1968 ceremony). Holmes and co-star Alexander Siddig were photographed on set as they recreated Jackie's wedding to billionaire shipping magnate Aristotle Onasis, which took place on the private Greek island of Skorpios. The pair were filmed walking down the aisle, saying their vows, hugging and then smashing a few plates for the cameras. There was also plenty of dancing, with Holmes' daughter Suri Cruise (bottom left) joining in the fun between takes with the actress playing Caroline Kennedy in the series.

Omar Mateen praised God, wished peace upon the prophet and spoke in Arabic during a 50-second call he made to a police dispatcher on June 12 from an Orlando gay club. The FBI has released partial transcripts of Mateen's conversations with members of law enforcement during the brutal attack, starting with the 911 call he made at 2:35am, a little over 30 minutes after the first report of shots being fired at the Pulse nightclub. Much of what Mateen said however has been redacted, with the FBI making the decision to leave out all references to Islam, 9/11 and any of the groups that the shooter pledged his allegiance to in the attack, which left 49 dead.

The death of Star Trek actor Anton Yelchin, 27, has raised questions about whether his Jeep might have suffered a dangerous design flaw that caused his fatal freak accident. The body of the Russian-born actor was found pinned against the gate of his home (right) by his 2.5 ton Jeep Grand Cherokee (similar to the one inset right) on Sunday in Studio City, California. Investigators said the car had been left in neutral and rolled down the steep driveway at him - and now some believe that might have happened because of a flawed design in certain models of Jeep. Thousands of Jeep Grand Cherokees were subject to a voluntary recall in the US and worldwide because a confusing gear stick design made it easy for drivers to forget the car was in neutral, not park, when the driver got out.

An emotional LeBron James (main) collapsed in tears as he lead the Cleveland Cavaliers to their first ever NBA championship in epic Game 7 win over Steph Curry's Warriors 93-89. The Kind created history as he led his team to a victory that marked the end of Cleveland's 52 years of hurt. Cleveland has become the first team in history to win an NBA championship after falling behind 3-1 in the Finals. The game remained in a deadlock and tied for much of the fourth quarter as both teams played their hearts out in one of the most watched NBA Finals games in history. LeBron finished with a triple double, including 27 points as he was crowned Finals MVP. The final score was 93-89, the closet game of the series. Curry (bottom right), the unanimous MVP of the regular season, could only muster 17 points.

Ayesha Curry was mercilessly trolled after posting a message on Twitter following the Golden State Warrior's loss on Sunday night.  She's become known for her controversial tweets, but after the Cleveland Cavaliers claimed a 93-89 victory, Steph Curry's wife was surprisingly contrite. In a message posted shortly after Game 7 of the NBA Finals ended, she wrote that she was 'proud' of the players and described the season as 'insane.' But despite remaining neutral, the 27-year-old mother-of-two was mocked relentlessly by basketball fans. Some took the opportunity to replace Steph in a Curry family photo with LeBron James while others unsurprisingly got creative with the infamous crying Michael Jordan meme.

Stunning new magazine shots of actress Priyanka Chopra have raised eyebrows for the way the 33-year-old's armpits appear in them. One of those alleged affairs was rumored to be with Alli MacKenzie (inset), former wife of golfer Will Mackenzie, although she denied the claims.

A Nashville man, Justin McCrory (right) had refused to vacate his property for two weeks despite the sale of the home completing more than a fortnight ago. The new purchaser - and now official homeowner - Tamara Holloway, said the occupier essentially 'pirated her house' (center) and after he said would not vacate, despite closing the deal on June 1.

Twin boys in South Carolina have died after they fell into a backyard swimming pool. Anderson County Deputy Coroner Don McCown said three-year-old Ezekiel Marcengill of Westminster died Sunday afternoon at a Greenville hospital. McCown says his brother, Caleb Marcengill, died Saturday afternoon shortly after he fell into the water. The deaths have been ruled accidental drownings.The coroner says the boys and their family were attending a gathering Saturday and a group of children went outside to play after lunch.

A 14-year-old boy has been charged with assault as a hate crime in connection to a horrific attack on a Muslim man earlier this month. Mohamed Rasheed Khan, 59, (left) was attacked on June 1 after he was leaving the Center for Islamic Studies on Jamaica Avenue in Queens (bottom right). Surveillance footage (top right) was released by police on June 7 showing two of the three suspects wanted in connection with the crime.

Seattle-based Stratolaunch Systems invited reporters to get their first look at 'Stratolaunch' (pictured left and right), which once completed, will be the biggest plane in the world (pictured inset). With a gargantuan wingspan of 385 feet (117 m) and six engines, the plane take a different tack in the private space race, by launching satellites into orbit from high altitude.

Lawrence Lorenzo Montoya, now 31, became one of the youngest people in Denver history to be sentenced to life without parole in an adult jail over the death of teacher Emily Johnson on New Year's Day, 2000. He spent the next 13 years of his life behind bars - four of those in solitary confinement - before his conviction was overturned on DNA evidence in 2014. Montoya has now filed a lawsuit against the City and County of Denver and Denver Police for $30 million after a disturbing video of the police interview was released.

Called Flash Falcon, the new concept from Barcelona-based designer Oscar Viñals would have a capacity for 250 passengers in business and 'super tourist' classes. Swiss adventurer Bertrand Piccard is piloting the plane on the 15th leg of its journey around the world. It took off from JFK International Airport in New York (pictured) and is due to land in Seville, Spain nearly four days later. The plane had been due to leave early Sunday but this was put off, apparently because of concerns over the weather. Prince Albert of Monaco, a patron of the project, gave the flight the go-ahead from its mission control center in Monaco, telling Piccard 'you are released to proceed.' The aircraft is on its 15th leg of its record-breaking journey around the world.

Vets who found the elephant at Mana Pools national park said it can sometimes be a race against time to find animals in the vast area after receiving reports that they have been injured. However, Pretty Boy - the nickname they have given him - walked straight up to vets with an obvious hole in his head (pictured, left). In fact, Dr Lisa Marabini even believes he was shot outside the park and made his way in to get help. Vets removed bone fragments from his head but could not take out the bullet, lodged in his skull (bottom right on the X-ray). However, he is now expected to make a full recovery.

A six-year-old Taylor Swift fan is desperately hoping to get the attention of her idol by recreating her most famous poses from photo shoots and videos. Lilly Neitzert, from Southern California, pictured top left and bottom right, loves the 26-year-old star, pictured top right and bottom left. Her mother Sara helps her construct the poses and photographs her for pictures she posts on social media.

Kaiden Orantes, two, was diagnosed with progressive hearing loss after his birth. He was recently given special hearing aids and a video caught the moment they were turned on. Doctors aren't sure what caused the sudden loss of hearing but in order to help him regain some hearing and learn to speak, they gave him two special-made hearing aids. In a video taken seconds after the aids were turned on, Caitlin says 'Hi, hello!' to her young son.
Immediately the boy's face lights up and he beings dancing and jumping with excitement.

A Tainan, Taiwan, salon shaves crazy patterns into furry pets. Cats are made to look like stegosauruses (top left) and dogs like lions (below left), after painstaking hair-cuts that take hours to finish and cost a minimum of £14. The Hello Kitty logo can even been carved (right) as well as a teddy bear (centre) depending on the size and shape of the pet. The man behind the wacky pet patterns is salon owner Ou Shih-jou, who said the idea came from people asking for something a bit different to a normal shave.

Somehow the warthog managed to escape the killer cat's claws at the Shamwari Game Reserve in the Eastern Cape, South Africa. Park ranger Sarah Moorcroft took the stunning shots. The petrified pig came just inches from certain death as the king of the jungle stretched out his paws. Ms Moorcroft caught the two with her Nikon D600 camera just after the lion's hunt began.
