Nicole Richie celebrates dad Lionel's birthday with cute throwback photo after honoring him and husband Joel Madden on Father's Day

She spent Father's Day paying tribute to the three most special men in her life. 

But the celebrations continued into Monday, when Nicole Richie shared an absolutely incredible childhood photo of her and dad Lionel Richie in honor of his 67th birthday. 

'Only you could work it out to being celebrated 2 days in a row. Happy Birthday L-Train,' the 34-year-old captioned the Instagram snapshot of a young Nicole wrapping her arms around the iconic singer.

In the throwback pic, the television personality - who was legally adopted by Richie and his then-wife Brenda Harvey at the age of nine - dons a pair of oh-so-80s teal leggings and chunky white sneakers as Lionel holds her close. 

The duo beams from ear to ear, and in the decades that followed have remained a tight-knit father-daughter pairing.

Just the day before Nicole took to Instagram to once again pay tribute to Lionel, this time including her rocker husband Joel Madden and six-year old son.

'To my favorite men in the world,' the House of Harlow designer captioned the sweet photo. 

Dressed in stylish all-black ensembles, Joel stands with his hand lovingly gripped on a smiley Sparrow's shoulder.

Lionel poses with what appear's to be a few of his grandson's toys, perhaps an activity he worked on building with the little boy.

In the photo, a long-haired Richie lays a sweet smooch on the couple's now eight-year-old daughter Harlow while Madden embraces them both. 

'Thank you for encouraging our children to be human instead of perfect,' she continued. 'And thank you for your unconditional love, patience, & acceptance. I hope our son turns out to be just like you.'
