Former participant on NBC’s The Voice will hit the stage in Las Vegas this June

April 26, 2016 – Singer/songwriter Megan Rüger was announced today as the winner of a national anthem singer contest sponsored by the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA).

Rüger, a 2014 contestant on the sixth season of NBC’s vocal competition show The Voice, submitted her audition video in a nationwide contest and was chosen as one of three finalists by a panel of NFPA judges. The process then moved online for public voting, where she garnered the majority of the 18,000 votes cast. Her submission can be viewed at http://www.nfpa.org/anthem.

She is a country/pop rock artist originally from Twin Lakes, Wis., who has since moved to Nashville and is currently working on her first full-length album.

As the NFPA anthem contest winner, Rüger will receive a roundtrip flight to Las Vegas, one-night’s hotel accommodations and full registration to the NFPA Conference & Expo®, where she will perform the national anthem in front of more than 3,000 attendees during the association’s Opening General Session.

Congratulations to Rüger on winning the competition!
