But no one rocks the functional and fashionable accessory cooler than a musician. So to celebrate, we're highlighting some of the best styles that came down the red carpet at last night's BET Awards.

From singer Alicia Keys to rapper 2 Chainz, both men and women brought their shade game. To get the look, Femail rounded up a few of our favorite styles out this seasons. Plus, scroll down to watch how a pair of sunglasses from rock-star-favored brand A-morir Eyewear are made.

While the singer's sunglasses were dark and mysterious, her husband Swizz Beatz (a.k.a. Kasseem Dean) completed his dapper look with a pair of fun, reflective lenses.

But all eyes were on Watch Me (Whip/Nae Nae) rapper Silentó (born Ricky Lamar Hawk), 18, who added a touch of color to his black and white ensemble with blue mirrored frames.

When you've had a hand in creating the neo-soul movement, you can pretty much wear anything you want and drummer Ahmir Khalib Thompson, better known as Questlove, 45,did not disappoint.

The co-founder of hip-hop/neo-soul group, the Roots, stood out from the crowd in a pair of colorful mosaic frames.

It's only natural that Yazz (born Bryshere Y. Gray), 22, would take inspiration from his Empire character Hakeen Lyon's flashy wardrobe. Ornate sunglasses and a white tuxedo made up the actor/rapper's urban style last night.
